Matchday 36 Serie A TIM 2019-20 24 - 26 July 2020 MILAN vs ATALANTA Atalanta have shared 42 draws with AC Milan – more than against any other Serie A TIM opponent, losing 51 times against the Rossoneri and winning 24. After winning the reverse fixture 5-0 back in December, Atalanta could win both games against AC Milan in a single Serie A TIM season for the first time since 2007/08. Atalanta’s last win against AC Milan in the second half of the season was in 2016 under Edoardo Reja. AC Milan have won only one of their last seven home meetings against Atalanta (D3 L3), failing to score in five of those games. Atalanta have scored 95 goals in their 35 games played so far this season, an average 2.7 per game – should they maintain this average, they would end on 103 goals, which would be their best goal scoring performance in Serie A TIM since 1950/51. Since the return of Serie A TIM in June, Atalanta and AC Milan are the two teams with the highest points per game on average (2.6). Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has an identical record of seven wins, seven draws and seven losses against AC Milan as a manager in Serie A TIM. AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been directly involved in five goals in his last four Serie A TIM appearances against Atalanta, scoring four and assisting another. Should he assist in this match, Hakan Calhanoglu could become the first AC Milan player to record an assist in four consecutive Serie A matches since Opta started their data collection in 2004-05. Luis Muriel (18) and Duván Zapata (17) have scored 35 goals combined this campaign, equalling Atalanta’s most prolific attacking pairs - 35 also from Ilicic and Zapata in 2018/19 and Sørensen & Hansen in 1949/50. BRESCIA vs PARMA Brescia and Parma have met 19 times so far in Serie A TIM – the Ducali lead by 11 wins to four (D4). Brescia won two games against Parma back in 1998, before winning only two of their following 13 meetings against the Ducali (D4 L7). Brescia have won their last two home games against Parma, after they had won only one of the previous seven (D2 L4). Since the restart of Serie A TIM, Brescia have won two of their four home games; one more than they had won this season prior to the competition being halted. Parma have lost their last three away games in the league – their worst run since February 2015. Brescia have already been relegated to Serie B – nine of their 13 relegations to Serie B have been as newly promoted-side. Brescia have conceded the most goals from set-pieces (25) - as well as the most goals following a cross (18, incl. corners) - in Serie A TIM this season. Alfredo Donnarumma has been directly involved in the last three goals scored by Brescia at home in Serie A TIM, just one fewer than he had this season prior to this run (4). Parma striker Andreas Cornelius has been directly involved in eight away goals in Serie A TIM in 2020 (five goals and three assists) – no player has had a hand in more in this period. Five of Gervinho’s seven goals in Serie A TIM this season have been scored away from home, however he has yet to score away from home since the competition resumed. GENOA vs INTER Genoa and Inter have met 105 times in Serie A TIM, with the Nerazzurri winning 54 of these meetings (29 draws and 22 defeats). The last draw between Genoa and Inter in the league was in May 2013 (0-0 at the Ferraris) – since then, the Nerazzurri lead by eight wins to five. Inter have won their last three league games against Genoa by an aggregate score of 13-0. Genoa have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven home meetings against Inter, losing only one of those games (W5 D1). Genoa have won their last two home games, while they last won three league games in a row at home in September 2018. Inter have collected 37 points away from home in Serie A TIM this season – the best away record in the competition (W11 D4 L2). Inter manager Antonio Conte is unbeaten in his seven previous meetings against Genoa in Serie A TIM (W4 D3). Genoa striker Goran Pandev scored five goals in his 46 Serie A TIM appearances for Inter between 2009-10 and 2010-11. He has netted four goals against Inter in the competition, with those coming while playing for Lazio and Genoa. Inter’s Roberto Gagliardini has scored five goals in seven league appearances against Genoa; his most against a single opponent in Serie A TIM. Inter striker Romelu Lukaku (currently on 21 goals) could equal Diego Milito and Amedeo Amedei for most goals scored in a debut Serie A TIM season for Inter (both 22), however they still trail Stefano Nyers (26) and Ronaldo (25). NAPOLI vs SASSUOLO Napoli and Sassuolo have met 13 times in Serie A TIM, with the Partenopei leading by seven wins to one (D5). Napoli have scored in each of their 13 Serie A TIM games against Sassuolo so far - 22 goals in total, at an average 1.7 per game. Sassuolo have never scored more than one goal away to Napoli in Serie A TIM, netting only four goals in six trips to the San Paolo. Napoli have conceded goals in each of their last 11 home games in Serie A TIM, equalling their longest such run from 1960. Sassuolo have scored in each of their last 11 league games, and could equal their best such run in the competition (12 games in 2014/15). Sassuolo manager Roberto De Zerbi made only three Serie A TIM appearances as a player, with all three coming for for Napoli in 2007/08. He has never beaten Napoli so far as a manager (D1 L4). After winning four games out of five following the restart of the Serie A TIM season (L1), Napoli have won just one of their last four league games (D2 L1). Napoli forward Matteo Politano scored 20 goals in his 96 Serie A TIM appearances for Sassuolo between 2015 and 2018. He has yet to score in three games against them in the competition since, however. Domenico Berardi made his Serie A TIM debut in a game against Napoli in September 2013 - Berardi has been directly involved in five goals in his last four league appearances. Francesco Caputo has scored four goals and made two assists in his last four league games, and could become Sassuolo’s first player to score in five consecutive Serie A TIM games. BOLOGNA vs LECCE Lecce have won only three of their 25 games against Bologna so far in Serie A TIM, losing 11 and sharing 11 draws. Bologna have lost only one of their last 12 games against Lecce in the top-flight (0-2 in September 2011), winning six and sharing five draws in the process. Lecce’s only win against Bologna during the second half of the season was in April 1990 – since then, four wins for the Rossoblu and six draws. Lecce have won only one of their 12 previous trips to Bologna in Serie A TIM, but that win came in their last game at the Dall’Ara in September 2011. Should they concede, Bologna will equal the worst record of consecutive Serie A TIM games without a clean sheet set by Verona between 1992 and 1997 (31). Bologna are winless in their last five league games (D2 L3), their worst run since January 2019. Since 2000, only two teams have conceded 77 goals from 35 matches of a Serie A TIM campaign - Lecce this season and Benevento in 2017/18. In the reverse fixture back in December, Bologna striker Riccardo Orsolini netted his only brace in Serie A TIM so far, helping Bologna to secure a 3-2 win. Gianluca Lapadula has scored nine goals in this campaign – should he score another goal, Lecce would have two players in double figure for the first time since the 2004/05 campaign (Mirko Vucinic and Valeri Bojinov). Before joining Lecce, Filippo Falco played nine Serie A TIM games for Bologna in 2015/16 – this could be his first game at the Dall’Ara since January 2016, when the hosts lost 1-0 against Chievo. CAGLIARI vs UDINESE This will be the 50th meeting in Serie A TIM between Cagliari and Udinese: the Friulani lead by 24 wins to 11, with 14 draws. Udinese have won each of the last three Serie A TIM matches against Cagilari. Cagliari and Udinese last drew in Sardinia in September 2011 (0-0) – since then, the hosts lead by four wins to two. Cagliari have won only one of their last nine home games (D3 L5), after they had won five of the previous six on home soil (D1). Udinese have won two of their last three away games (L1), as many wins as in their previous 14 away fixtures in the league. Udinese, who beat Juventus in their last league game, haven’t won back-to-back league matches since January. Cagilari manager Walter Zenga has a personal record of two wins, two losses and a draw against Udinese as a Serie A TIM manager. Cagliari striker João Pedro has scored four goals against Udinese so far, but only one of those has come at home.
