However, the Saints would give up 46 second half points Tape and score only 22 as they fell to the Marist Red Foxes by a final score of 78-55. HEAD COACH ALI JAQUES In just seven seasons Ali Jaques has put Siena Women's Year-by-Year With Coach Jaques Basketball back on the map. Under her leadership the Saints enter the 2019-20 season ready to bounce back and take on the MAAC after years of back-to-back third place YEAR SCHOOL OVR MAAC picks in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll in 17-18 and 2012-13 Siena 13-18 8-10 18-19. 2013-14 Siena 9-22 3-17 Now entering her eighth season, Jaques has compiled a 2014-15$ Siena 22-13 11-9 101-119 (.459) overall record including a 64-70 (.478) 2015-16 Siena 14-18 10-10 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Prior to 2016-17 Siena 14-16 13-7 their success a couple season ago, the Saints recorded 13 conference wins for the most victories since 2003-04 fol- 2017-18 Siena 17-14 11-7 lowing a MAAC Preseason third place pick. 2018-19 Siena 12-18 8-10 2019-20 Siena 10-18 8-11 In 2017-18, Jaques helped collect the program's highest overall win total since 2014-15, when her Saints won 22 TOTALS EIGHT SEASONS 111-137 72-82 games and advanced to the championship game of the Women's Basketball Invitational. Siena won 17 games, ! MAAC Tournament Champions/NCAA Tournament and advanced to the MAAC semifinals. $College Basketball Invitational Jaques guided the Saints to a 22-13 overall record during the 2014-15 season which marked the program's first winning season in 11 years and most victories in a dozen seasons. Siena's 13-win improvement from the previous season was tied for the second best turnaround in all of New York University ‘98 Division I and the Saints' 12 true road wins were tied for the fourth most nationally. Additionally, for the third (Eighth Season at Siena) time in Jaques' first three seasons, the Saints won their Overall Record: 111-137 MAAC Tournament opener as the lower seeded team. Siena was rewarded for its success with a trip to the Women's Basketball Invitational and became the first school in MAAC history to win three games in a national postseason tournament and advance to the championship game. The Saints defeated Big East foe Xavier in the quar- terfinals in Cincinnati by 20 points, marking the pro- gram's largest margin of victory ever over a current member of one of the six major conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, SEC). - Siena return to action on as they close out the MAAC schedule this week at both Fairfield and Marist. The Saints currently sit at 8-11 overall in the MAAC, sitting in seventh place in the MAAC standings. - The Saints are set to be either the 6th or 7th seed in the upcoming MAAC Championship. With a win, the Saints will wrap up the 6 seed, while a loss will make their situation a little more complicated, having a potential coin flip determine their seed along with the Iona Gaels depending on results around the league prior to their game Saturday night. - If the Saints fall to Marist, they would need a Saint Peter’s victory over Iona to pull the teams into a tie for 6th. Based on the two teams records against the teams ahead of them, a coin flip would determine the outcome. If Iona were to beat Saint Peter’s, Siena would be locked into the 7th seed. - In the current scenario, the Saints would play at 11:30 AM on Tuesday if they were the 7 seed, and would play at 1:30 PM on Tuesday if they end up as the 6 seed.
