LADB Article Id: 077754 ISSN: 1089-1560 Bolivian Legislators Call On Government To Join Contadora Support Group by Deborah Tyroler Category/Department: General Published: Friday, October 31, 1986 On Oct. 30 several Bolivian legislators of "several political persuasions" signed a communique calling on the Bolivian government to join the Contadora Support Group. The statement added that Bolivian participation in the Support Group would contribute to peace in Central America, in pursuance of a policy of non-alignment, self-determination and non-interference in the domestic affairs of foreign countries. The Support Group was formed in 1985 by the foreign ministers of Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Uruguay to provide assistance to the Contadora Group in working out a Central American peace treaty. Foreign ministers from Mexico, Panama, Colombia and Venezuela created Contadora in 1983.
