Now celebrating his 17th season with the company, Dance Kaleidoscope's Artistic Director is truly an international ambassador. David Hochoy was born in Trinidad, West Indies. He attended college at McGill University in Montreal where he began studying for a career as a doctor, but during his senior year he discovered his affini­ ty for the theatre. He did go on to receive his B.Sc.from McGill and then continued his theatri­ cal interest with an M.A. in directing from Penn State. At age 20, David took his first dance class and discovered his true love of dance. After studying in New York at the Alvin Ailey and Martha Graham schools, he danced with numerous national companies, and in 1980 was invited to join the Martha Graham Dance Company. Made a soloist in 1982, and rehearsal director in 1986, David toured the world with Graham until 1989. He has given master classes in Graham technique throughout the United States and Europe, and in 1990 was invited to Guangzhou, China where, for ten weeks, he taught the experimental troupe of the Guangdong Dance Academy. David has been on the faculty of the Martha Graham School since 1982, and returns regularly for intensive workshops. In addition he has taught at the American Dance Festival (ADF) held at Duke University, as well as ADF West in Salt Lake City and ADF Seoul in Korea. In 1991 he was invited to teach and choreograph at the Vienna International Dance Festival. He has given workshops in Quebec City,Tokyo, Oslo, Dublin and Rio de Janiero. David spent two years as a full-time faculty member at Texas Christian University. David co-directed AsYou Like It at the Indiana Repertory Theatre with IRT's artistic director Janet Allen. He is also Artistic Director of The Green Shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF). This past summer marked DK's tenth season of residence at OSF, where the company performed his choreography in Come Sweet Love, Weill World and Such Stuff as Dreams are Made On. David was a recipient of a prestigious Choo-San Goh Award for his choreography for Rhapsody in Blue in 2006. He is also a two-time recipient of a Master Fellowship in Choreography and an Individual Artist Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission and recipient of a Creative Renewal Fellowship from the Arts Council of Indianapolis. He has been awarded the Key to the City by the City/County Council, the Distinguished Hoosier Award by the Governor of Indiana, and was honored by the Center for Leadership Development for outstanding achievement in the arts. In 2004, he was voted one of "Indiana's 25 Keepers" by the readers of Indy Men's Magazine. Kenoth Shane Patton danced with the Oklahoma University Modern Repertory Dance Theatre from 1991 through 1997, where he stud­ ied with Ko Yukihiro, Denise Vale, George White, Jr., Denise Jefferson and Maxine Sherman. He graduated with a BFA in dance performance from OU in 1997. He has studied with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre as well as the Martha Graham Company. He has also choreographed numerous works, three of which have been per­ formed for the Daedalus Project at the Oregon Sponsored by Shakespeare Festival, and another with Dance Richard E. Ford Kaleidoscope. In the summer of 1998, he per­ formed and taught in Singapore with Dance Ensemble of Singapore and performed the lead role in Temptations of the Moon with the Martha Graham Ensemble.This is his eleventh year with Dance Kaleidoscope. Liberty Harris began her training in Indianapolis with Linda Reese at the Dance Magic Performing Arts Studio. She attended Interlochen Arts Academy on a dance scholarship for four years. While studying at Butler University, she was asked to join Dance Kaleidoscope for the 1997 produc­ tion of Carmina Burana. Liberty then went on to dance with the Charleston Ballet Theater of South Carolina for two years. This is her ninth season with Dance Kaleidoscope. George Salinas attended Sponsored by the High School for the Richard E. Ford, David B. Leach Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas,Texas, where he was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts finalist for his Mexican "Folklorico" dancing. George received his formal dance training from Denise Vale and 1 Austin Hartel at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance Pedagogy. While at the university, he was a guest dancer with the SD Prism Dance Sponsored by Simon Crookall & Theatre in Seattle, Washington, and a scholarship Stephen Strugneli student with the American Dance Festival from 2001 through 2003. George has worked with renowned artists and choreographers:Tatiana Baganova, Kevin Brown, Chuck Davis, Luis Montero, Earl Mosely, Dennis Marshall, and Donald McKayle.
