During the rapidly increase of urbanization and energy demands, APEC member economies need to face the challenge of global climate change. Sustainable Development Goals/Goal 11 “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” Two Specific Aspirational Goals of EWG “To double the share of renewables in the APEC energy mix, including in power generation by 2030; to reduce APEC’s aggregate energy intensity by 45% from 2005 levels by 2035.” The 57th Energy Working Group Meeting, Manila, The Philippines, May 21-25 2019 9 Copyright © 2019 APSEC EWG 12 2018S Research on Forms of Low-carbon Energy System and Best Practices for APEC Sustainable Cities Forms of Low-carbon Project Summary Energy System Low-carbon Energy System is a proactive option, which aims • Island City • Inland City at energy efficiency, clean utilization and large-scale • Peninsular City renewable energy consumption as the background. This project will present the concept, advanced technologies, models and application forms of low-carbon energy Sustainable City system through the review and research on best practices, and explain significance and benefits for improving city sustainability in APEC economies, and provide help for all Energy Energy economies to carry out research and application in the future.
