We seek to build the Kingdom of God by: Using our unique gifts to minister to one another, Welcoming all and caring for those in need, Teaching our faith to others and Uniting in worship as a family with the Body of Christ. Dear HOLY EASTER PEOPLE of God: Jesus cannot be overdone in generosity! In our gospel, he did it again! He gives us two precious gifts that must be visible in our lives 24/7: First gift is LOVE! Jesus said, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him... we will come to him and make our dwelling with him”. The LOVE that Jesus offers is sacred; it gives life; and it makes miracles. That LOVE is passed from the Father to Jesus, from Jesus to his disciples and to us, from parents to children, from heart to heart. When God’s love is welcomed into our lives, Jesus will put this sign in your heart: “Home Sweet Home!” And you will not be “Home Alone”, the Blessed Trinity will be with you, as Jesus assured you: “We [Father and Son] will come to him and make our dwelling in him”; and the “Holy Spirit... [my] Father will send in my name.” Second gift is PEACE! Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you!” When you read the newspapers and watch the news on TV, you see the lives of people destroyed by the evils of war, violence, hunger, hatred and poverty. These victims become hopeless and defuturized, and peace becomes elusive in their lives. But now, help is on the way! Jesus announces to us his divine gift, he said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you... Do not let your hearts be troubled.” This gift offers serenity of the mind, and creates harmony of the soul. This gift is tested by Jesus’ suffering and death; it’s a product of his resurrection! So, today let’s engage ourselves in peacemaking. But just a reminder, peacemak- ing is not a part time ministry; it’s a full time vocation of every Christian. It should be carried at home, parish, community, nation, and in the world. Imagine this: if the billion Christians around the world become peacemakers, how would the world look like? If the Protestants, Catholics, and Muslims were united and witness for Jesus who is the Prince of Peace, how would the world look like? If the nu- merous married couples, will say, “Let us love with an everlasting love, what would be the face of families around the globe?” Certainly, our world would be: not a globe that is round, but an image of a HEART – always breathing life that is filled with love and peace, and joy. Today, beginning from the Eucharist of love and peace, let’s be lovers of life, let’s be peacemakers…let’s make miracles… Blessings of love and peace! Fr.
