Painting the Gods Thursday 10th November from 6.30pm This is a special, 2- centre event new to Tattenhall which combines stunning Indian artistry with a delicious supper. To set the mood, your evening starts at our local Indian restaurant “Tattenhall Spice” where we have arranged for a tasty buffet supper to be available from 6.30pm. Then on to the Barbour Institute at 8.00pm for a show which combines the skills of 3 dancers, 2 musicians, a storyteller and a visual artist painting live on stage. Together they are the Balbir Singh Dance Company and create a feast for the senses which depicts a rich panoply of Indian gods – their stories, representations and incarnations – some already known to you and some perhaps less familiar. The performance is suitable for all ages. Tickets are £16 each* (all ages) and available from Pam in Complement (High St), Jill at The Studio (Worley Court), by email from [email protected] or book online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/280396. *To enquire about show-only tickets please ring Linda on 01829 771374. All their friends and family will be there to celebrate the marriage between this country girl and city boy. The roots of this new play draw their vitality from the author's interviews with a wide range of people whose experiences inform this light-hearted view of relationships across the divides of rural/urban, race and gender. The result is fast and funny with plenty of neat twists, all rounded off with the toe-tapping rhythms of a Bhangra disco dance for all of us to enjoy. The performance is suitable for all ages, although young children may find it a bit hard to follow.
