Jacqui Wallace Brathay Trust After an eclectic array of jobs in my youth, I began my career in the voluntary sector in 2003 working for South Cumbria Rape & Abuse Service (now known as the Birchall Trust) and then as an educator for CADAS, delivering group work to young people and providing support on a 1:1 basis. Since 2009 I have worked for Brathay Trust, initially as Senior Youth Worker and for the last 5 years I have been the Cumbria Projects Manager, where I've had the opportunity and privilege to create, develop and manage some of the most impactful and rewarding programmes for disadvantaged young people; including New Beginnings, a 3 year project to support young people who were preparing to, or who had left care. Dailayna Watson SI Cockermouth member After a difficult start in life during her teenage years, Dailayna has turned her life around, with support from 'a good team', including Brathay Trust. She is Chair of West Cumbria Care Leavers' Forum, is trained as a peer mentor and independent visitor with NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) supporting young people going through similar experiences to her own. She has been an independent panel member for with a fostering agency for three years and is undertaking a degree in Social Work at the University of Cumbria. Dailayna joined Cockermouth Soroptimists in 2014 having enjoyed helping with practical projects. Wife to Kevin and mum to baby Miah, aged 2 months, life is busy! Ann-Marie Steel, Derwent Girlguides I am Solway division commissioner, which covers all the guiding units in Workington, where I have had a Brownie unit for nearly 20 years. I also run a Guide unit in Cockermouth. I work as a volunteer manager for a lottery funded project called Ewanrigg Local Trust in Maryport. I am also a breastfeeding counsellor for the National Childbirth Trust, Chair of Governors at Eaglesfield Paddle Academy, wife to Mark, mum to 4 children ranging in age from 24 -13 years. I love cooking and gardening and have a garden full of apple and pear trees, soft fruit bushes, hens and many weeds! Lyn Roberts, Derwent Girlguides I'm Assistant County Commissioner for Cumbria North Girlguiding. I run a Guide unit in Cockermouth and have 30yrs of service in Girlguiding. I'm a trained Laughing yoga instructor and love to share it where ever I go! My day job is making Boo Bears Cumbria from home and teaching others to making them.
