STEWARDS SUMMARY OF PENALTIES 2015 V8 SUPERCARS CHAMPIONSHIP – RACES 21, 22 & 23 Document No: SE04 “Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint” Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek, New South Wales. 21st to 23rd August 2015. Stewards Summary Update 3 FINAL: Sunday, 23 August 2015 at 18:55hrs. Sunday 23rd August, 2015 Qualifying for Race 23 Following an investigation and an admission of a breach of Rule D 12.7.3 (Use of Equipment/Tools) by Triple Eight Race Engineering Pty Ltd (a metal ruler falling from Car #888 during the session), the Stewards imposed a penalty of a fine of $3000 and the Loss of 30 Teams Championship Points on Triple Eight Race Engineering Pty Ltd. Race 23 Pit Lane Penalties were imposed as follows: On Car #34, David Wall, for a driving infringement, causing contact with Car #7 Todd Kelly on Lap 1; On Car #34, David Wall, for a Pit Lane infringement, failing to stop at Pit Exit for Red light during the Safety Car period; On Car #4, Ash Walsh, for a Safety Car restart infringement, overtaking Car #14 Fabian Coulthard, before the Control Line. Post-race investigations were conducted into the following incidents and no breach of the rules was established: Contact between Car #97, Shane van Gisbergen, and Car #8, Jason Bright; Incident where Car #8, Jason Bright, short cut the circuit. Following an investigation and an admission of Careless Driving by Car #47, Tim Slade (causing contact with Car #21, Dale Wood, at Turn 1), the Stewards imposed a Penalty of the loss of 15 Championship points on Tim Slade. The Stewards received and accepted a Protest from Prodrive Racing Australia in relation to the incident involving contact between Car #888 Craig Lowndes, and Car #5, Mark Winterbottom at Turn 2. (Rule B 4.4.1.6). This Protest will be heard and determined at the next round of the Championship. Saturday 22nd August, 2015 Practice – Part 3 There were no issues. Qualifying for Race 21 There were no issues. P a g e | 1 INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY – NO REGULATORY VALUE STEWARDS SUMMARY OF PENALTIES Qualifying for Race 22 There were no issues Race 21 Following an investigation and an admission of careless driving by Car #222 Nick Percat (causing contact with Car #21 Dale Wood) the Stewards imposed a penalty of the Loss of 25 Championship Points on Nick Percat. Following an investigation and an admission of reckless driving by Car #21 Dale Wood (causing contact with Car #222 Nick Percat, post-race) the Stewards imposed a penalty of the Loss of 35 Championship Points on Dale Wood. Post-race investigations were conducted into the following incidents and no breach of the rules was established: Incident involving contact between Car #8 Jason Bright, with Car #15 Rick Kelly; Incident involving contact between Car #2 Garth Tander, with Car #8 Jason Bright. Race 22 There were no issues. Friday 21st August, 2015. Matters arising from Practice – Additional Driver The Stewards imposed a fine of $350 on Steven Richards, Car #888, for exceeding Pit Lane speed limit at Pit Entry (47 kph) at 1037hrs. (Rule D12.4.3). Matters arising from Practice Part 1 The Stewards imposed a fine of $350 on Jamie Whincup, Car #1, for exceeding Pit Lane speed limit at Pit Entry (46 kph) at 1149hrs. (Rule D12.4.3). Matter arising from Practice Part 2 There were no issues. Matter arising from Meeting Rides Following an investigation and an admission by James Moffat, Car #99, that he breached Rule E 1.3.6, (Practice starts are not permitted during Meeting rides) the Stewards imposed the penalty of a fine of $ 5,000, $ 2,500 of which is suspended, upon James Moffat.
