SHORT BIO: Kayla Woodson is a country singer/songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised in Waggaman, Louisiana, Kayla was a little girl with a big voice and a love for the stage. She was singing by age 4, playing the Texas/Louisiana Opry circuit by age 7, and by age 10, fronting her own band at parades, parties, and festivals across the region and hasn’t stopped since. She was seen on Season 14 of NBC’s The Voice, and released her single “Unfixable” in early 2018. Combining her songwriting and impressive vocal ability with her surprisingly powerful, sassy stage presence, Kayla is making her mark in country music. She is eager to share her sassy and soulful brand of country music with audiences around the world. FULL BIO: With musical roots in country, rock, and soul, Kayla Woodson's influences range from Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder to Journey and Guns ‘N Roses, along with country stars such as Dolly Parton and Carrie Underwood. Combining her powerful vocals with her strong stage presence, Kayla has started to make her mark on Music City. From a spur of the moment opportunity to jump on stage and perform with Lady Antebellum to mentions on national and local radio shows, Nashville is taking notice. Growing up in the small town of Waggaman, Louisiana, Kayla was a little girl with a big voice and a love for the stage. At age seven, she started playing the Texas/Louisiana Opry circuit and, by age ten, she was fronting her own band and performing at parades, parties, and festivals across the region. In 2004, Kayla took her talents to Italy to train at the Bocelli School of Music then later that year to Romania to represent the United States at the Golden Star Children’s International Talent Fest, where she took 2nd place in the world. By age fifteen, Kayla was writing her own music and released an album titled I’m Movin’ On, which included four of her original songs. In the fall of 2012, Kayla took a leap of faith and made the move to Nashville to study at Belmont University following the footsteps of country superstars and Belmont alumni such as Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley, and Lee Ann Womack. 2015 was a whirlwind year for Kayla that included her first performance on the Hard Rock stage at CMA Music Fest, shows with her band up and down Nashville’s famed Broadway, and the release of her first single “Fan for the Flame” to country radio. Since moving to Music City, Kayla has taken the time to focus on and develop her songwriting. In 2016, she released her self-titled EP, Kayla Woodson – EP, which is a collection of five original songs written or co-written by Kayla. Having had her hand in every aspect of the creation of this project, Kayla is confident that it represents the artist into which she has matured. More recently, she was a contestant on NBC's The Voice Season 14, after which she released her newest single "Unfixable." Joining her impressive vocal ability along with her powerful, sassy stage presence, Kayla is eager to share her sassy, soulful brand of country music with audiences around the world. .
