RETURN OF 2010 AWARDS Can we ask that any award winners from 2010 make con- tact with Keith Graham as soon as possible (details at the back of Spin Off) to make arrangements for the re- turn of their silverware please. The Committee are also looking for nominations from the membership for the following awards:- The Wonky Trophy : this exactly what it is; a wonky trophy. We need the mem- bership to suggest for the committee’s consideration, any person(s) who might deserve this award. The crite- ria is fairly straightforward. Any form of mishap that makes us smile or just plain split our sides! It can be a driver, marshal, official almost anyone providing they are a member of NSCC. The Brian Tustain Award : The Brian Tustain Award is a long standing award within NSCC and again is open to be awarded to any NSCC member. The criteria here is fairly simple as well in that it is awarded for meritorious action or work that has benefited the club. Would you please help us by sending any nominations you feel suitable to the Chairman in the first instance either by post or email. (details on page 27) 4 Editors Mutterings This has to be one of the “smallest” editions of Spin Off I’ve created in the last year or so that I’ve been publishing it. Your contributions really do count and I urge you all to let me have any creative writings you are prepared to have published. My thanks to all those who have gone to the trouble of sending theirs to me but there has definitely been an overall shortage of event reports this year. Please check out page 18 of Spin Off this month as there is the Com- mittee Application form if any of you are interested in joining the com- mittee at this years AGM. Your help in running the Club is always wel- comed. If you want an informal chat beforehand, give Roger Carrington a call and he can brief you on what might be involved. Winter Paddocks kick off again this month and are held on the last Fri- day in each month barring November where we meet at the AGM. See page 19 for further details. Your hard working Competition Secretary Steve Brown has been hard at it once again toiling away with the 2012 Championship event invita- tions and has managed to secure you with a potential 22 event champi- onship for you. Mind you, there’s a heck of a choice on April 15th! Blyton Park Raceway in Lincolnshire has finally appeared on the calen- dar. You may remember me rambling on about the potential for this circuit over the last 18 months or so. The circuit owners have now spent a fortune on having a very large proportion of the circuit completely re- surfaced. Another plus point for Blyton is that it can safely be run in ei- ther direction. Westfield Sports Car Club have secured a weekend in July to which we have accepted an invitation for both days to be part of the NSCC Championship. I urge you to go along, it should be a good weekend, the Westfield boys always put on a good event. It remains to be seen however if they can generate enough interest and entries to make it a viable proposition. We’ll have to wait and see. Well, I haven’t done an event write up for some time, my job has got hellishly busy and every time I get to a computer, I’m either knackered or have something that I get paid to do to get done. Some would say (Ben and Mike for example) that the fact I have been beaten in my own car by someone else (Ben and Mike for example ) for the last four events might suggest that I am a bad sport but I hold myself up to be a sportsman of great honour and would not allow myself to behave so dishonourably. (Did some- one cough?). This Thoresby was to be the last time that I drove my cute but now scruffy Bond Equipe in competition before seeking to sell it and fund the new project. The car has had twin Weber carburet- tors attached since Thoresby 2010 and I was expecting it to be faster.
