The 2019 F4UAE Championship will broadly follow the format of previous years but with a few subtle changes that have been introduced following team and driver feedback. Principal changes include: • 5 rounds comprising of 4 races each round • Season will run from early January to early March 2019 • Following agreements with both German and Italian F4 promotors, all drivers may complete a full season in F4UAE in 2019 and retain their Rookie status for the European 2019 Championships • 2 back-to-back race weekends plus 1 standalone weekend • First two rounds will support the Creventic Prototype series and the prestigious Dubai 24 hours. Over 2017/2018 WINNERS the six rounds and eventual 23 races contested, Weerts won a total of eight races, with 17 podium appearances, and was fastest in qualifying twice out of six rounds. The Promotor is entirely independent from the teams and does not itself run cars in the Championship. The Promoter will maintain a list of teams that have indicated an interest in supporting the Championship and will put drivers in contact with these teams, and teams in contact with drivers. It is the responsibility of the teams and drivers to negotiate their own agreements between themselves . Drivers should note that each team will offer different levels of support services and prices charged by the teams will vary. 10 FORMULA 4 UAE | CERTIFIED BY THE FIA | POWERED BY ABARTH 11 FORMULA 4 UAE | CERTIFIED BY THE FIA | POWERED BY ABARTH Eligibility DRIVERS The F4 UAE Championship is open to all drivers aged 15 years and above. Drivers must be in possession of an FIA National licence or above and all registered drivers are eligible to score Championship points and Driver awards. Teams may enter up to a maximum of 4 cars at each race weekend. F4UAE Rookie drivers are classed as drivers that have not competed in a car race prior to October 1 2018. TEAMS All teams with an entrant’s licence are permitted to enter drivers into the F4UAE Championship and will be awarded points which correspond to the points scored by their highest placed drivers in each race. 12 FORMULA 4 UAE | CERTIFIED BY THE FIA | POWERED BY ABARTH TROPHIES & AWARDS PODIUMS AFTER EACH RACE The following Podium Trophies will be awarded after each race: • Winner, 2nd place, 3rd place overall • Highest-finishing Rookie driver • Winning team END OF SEASON AWARDS • F4UAE Drivers Champion • F4UAE Rookie of the Year • F4UAE Teams Champion • F4UAE Sportsmanship Award (as voted by team principals and category officials) Additionally, the FIA may choose to present an award to the F4UAE Drivers Champion at its annual prizegiving.
