Phone : 231784, E-mail : [email protected] A. S. R. Naik, (IAS) District Collector, Chairman DLCC/DLRC, JALNA. I am very pleased to present the Annual Credit Plan of Jalna District for the financial year 2014-15 prepared by the Lead Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Jalna District, as per the Potential Link Plan prepared by NABARD, all Banks, Govt Agencies, and all Corporations, as per RBI Guidelines on Service Area Plan. The District Credit Plan is prepared keeping in view the goal of faster, sustainable and more inclusive growth of Jalna district. The major focus of Annual Credit Plan is to improve the Human Development Index (which is just 0.27 and we rank at 33 out of 35 districts in Maharashtra) and per capita income of the Jalna. District Credit plan has been prepared in tune with the PLP of the district prepared by NABARD. The credit provisions made in this plan have been arrived at after careful consideration of the potential available under various activities and the requirement of districts in all sectors of economy. The plans have been finalized in the DLCC meetings held during last quarter of 2013-14 There is need for increased coordination among all stake holders in implementing and achieving goals set by the realistic credit plan , after taking into account the available potentials. Initiatives of GOI, State Government, RBI, NABARD, and active participation of the agencies in the district and block level, are also required. Hence it is decided in the DLCC meetings the need of opening of the additional outlets of the banking. As per the overall survey we expect the addition of around 20-25 bank branches in entire district. The planed credit for Jalna District is of Rs. 1883.53 crores to Priority Sector including various Programmes of Govt. of India and Govt.of Maharashtra. Jalna District has Agriculture as predominant activity, hence the major share of plan provision of Rs. 1237.09 Crores 65.68%) is allocated to agriculture and allied activities. Last year this figure was 987.60 crores i.e. increase of 249.49 crores over last year. The Non-Farm sector and Other Priority sectors have also been given due weightage. NFS allocation is Rs. 266.37 crores, it shows rise of 25.75% over last year and 3.63% of total priority plan. It will help to implement MSME scheme in long way. For retail and small business and to self employed persons, the credit allocation has been made to the tune of Rs 380.07 crores i.e. (8.05%). We have achieved of 87.00% ACP of 2013-14 upto December 2013. Banks are also doing good work in the field of social justice and upliftment of weaker section in the society, and SC/ST, Women, minority community are getting due share adequately. We need to enhance our efforts to reach the downtrodden people and beneficiaries under different government sponsored schemes, so that the goal of inclusive and sustainable development is achieved in letter and sprit. I appeal all the banks in the district to continue the same, in right spirit and same zeal. On the background of the good performance in past, I am sure that Bankers will give better performance during 2014-15. For implementation of this District Credit Plan, innovative strategy may be adopted by all the banks and Govt. Departments. All Corporations have its own responsibility in implementation of Govt. Sponsored schemes. Corrective steps may be taken to avoid bad experiences of the past. From this year the selection made scheme was successfully implemented in the district. I am pleased to inform you that, the Jalna district is pilot in the implementation of the selection process; however the Banks need to redouble their efforts in timely and adequate finance to the beneficiaries. It is observed that, the performance under Non Farm Sector especially under MSME needs improved attention from all Bankers. The main hurdle of not receiving the good trained cliental for the MSME finance is now taken care by the districts. Entrepreneurship Development mission implemented in the District for the first time. I would like to mention that the Lead Bank has maintained very good co-ordination with all the Bankers as well as Govt. officers and it will be continued in future. I am sure that, Bank of Maharashtra as a Lead Bank will continue to co-ordinate their efforts effectively for achieving the desired goals and truly lead by example. With best wishes. (A. S. R.
