Sue Boss 4 METHODIST CHURCH (www.brentknollmethodistchurch.com) Minister Revd. Margaret Trapp I’m writing this on a sunny and unseasonably warm November morning and have to keep reminding myself that this is the Christmas edition of Brent Knoll News. Despite the Supermarkets displaying their festive wares since the end of August, I’m still taken by surprise by just how quickly the year has moved on and that this is our last article of 2014. We love sharing the Seasonal joy at Brent Knoll Methodist Church, so a reminder that we will be holding our Christmas coffee morning on Saturday 29th November at 10.30am. We look forward to sharing coffee and mince pies with our village and Link Church friends. Our All Age Worship Christmas service will take place on Sunday 21st December. As you all know, we love having young people in the church and this service will be especially geared towards them as we go through the Christmas story together. Our Carol service will be held on Sunday 30th December. This follows the tradition of Advent being a time of preparation and reflection as we look forward to the birth of Christ and then the start of 12 days of celebration until Epiphany on 6th January. Please come along and help us celebrate! We won’t be holding a bible study group in December but will have two in January - on Monday 5th and Monday 26th - both at 2.30pm in the Church schoolroom. Our Emmaus Group starts again on 8th January, again at 2.30pm. Well all that needs to be said now, is that from all of us at Brent Knoll, we wish you all the joy of Christmas and a peaceful, healthy and happy 2015. God bless. We had a lovely time with the children colouring pictures of Pudsey Bear and there were stickers for everyone. We have now started our Christmas preparations and we are all looking forward to the Christmas Party on Tuesday 9th December which will also be our last day of term. The Toddler Team would like to wish all our toddlers, their families and carers a Peaceful, Happy and Magical Christmas. Very important Message from Father Christmas: He said that as you have all been extremely good he will be very busy delivering your presents on Christmas Eve so could you please get to sleep early to help him on his way. Thank you! Jane Poppy Collection at Sanders Garden World A great year for the Poppy Appeal Collection. We haven’t yet got the final total, but we expect it to be around the £3,800 mark!
