Friday 28 April 2017 Business Bulletin Iris Ghnothaichean ANNOUNCEMENTS Resignation of a Member The Presiding Officer wishes to make the following announcement: I have been informed by John Lamont of his resignation as a Member of the Scottish Parliament. As required by article 83 of the Scottish Parliament (Elections etc.) Order 2015, I have sent a notice to the returning officer for the constituency of Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire informing her of the vacancy arising from this resignation. Under Rule 1.5 of Standing Orders, I have determined the date and time of the vacancy as 1.00pm on 27 April 2017. I give notice that under section 9 of the Scotland Act 1998, the date fixed for the poll at the election to fill the vacancy in the constituency of Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire is 8 June 2017. Membership of the Parliamentary Bureau The Presiding Officer wishes to inform members that Maurice Golden has been nominated as a member of the Parliamentary Bureau as a party representative. Arrangements for lodging of First Minister’s Questions and Topical Questions are detailed below. Due to the Local Government Elections on Thursday 4 May, First Minister’s Questions, General and Portfolio Questions will take place on Wednesday 3 May. The deadline for submitting First Minister’s Questions for 3 May is 12noon on Friday 28 April. The deadline for submitting Topical Questions for 2 May is 9.30 am on Tuesday 2 May.
