Athletics YEAR 7 AND 8 SPORTS 2020 Basketball Welcome to St Paul’s College Badminton At St Paul’s College we offer a variety of codes and sporting options at different levels for our Cricket Year 7 and 8 students. There is something for everyone regardless of Football experience or skill level. It is the expectation that once a student Futsal commits to a sports team, he fulfils that commitment until the end. Being a valuable member of the team that others can depend on Swimming At St Paul’s College we work hard to provide plenty of opportunities for our young men. We enter well-organised teams, registered into appropriate grades. Tennis We aim to enrol the family on every level, including sport. Touch If you would like to help coach, manage or can contribute in any way towards our sports programme for Years 7 and 8, we would love to Volleyball hear from you. Athletics YEAR 7 AND 8 SPORTS Basketball 2020 Sports Uniform Badminton The expectation is for all sports activities within school hours; PE lessons, Central Zone one-day tournaments and sports exchanges, the boys will wear their full PE uniform. Cricket PE Uniform: St Paul’s PE Shirt, St Paul’s Maroon PE Shorts and a change of socks and appropriate sports shoes (no bare feet). Football If your son is selected for a team, depending on the code there may be alternative uniforms handed out for the games. Futsal Rugby League Rugby Sevens Rugby Wednesday Union Sports Central Zone Afternoon Sports Exchanges Tournaments Softball Every Wednesday 1.30- Approximately One day tournaments 3.20pm 4-5 exchanges throughout the year per term on a Squash All Year 7 and 8 students Wednesday In a variety of different participate in the afternoon 1.30- sports codes Physical Education and 3.20pm Sports Programme. In 2020 we will be entering a Basketball, Futsal Cricket and Rugby Sevens team with the possibility of additional entries into individual competitive codes for students who compete at that level. Football ANCHOR AIMS GAMES Futsal The Games are held every year in Tauranga and the dates for 2020 are; Saturday 5th September – Friday 11th September Rugby League (Term 3, Week 8) Your son may choose one team to trial for; Basketball, Futsal or Rugby Sevens. Rugby Sevens All teams will be selected by the end of Term 1, Week 10. Rugby If your son is selected for a team they will be Union expected to be at all practices and trainings in preparation leading up to the tournament. Softball There are fundraising requirements for the St Paul’s College AIMS teams and all selected boys and their parents will be expected to attend these.
