Narrative Description: The Grocers Wholesale Company Warehouse is located on the southwest corner of West Ninth and Cherry streets in the warehouse and factory district that borders the southwest portion of the downtown area. Figure 27 locates the building and the immediate neighborhood. Railroad tracks, reduced considerably in number, pass the building to the south. The Raccoon River flows eastwardly, a half mile to the south, and links with the Des Moines River just an equal distance to the east.
