It’s a time of joy and sadness. We celebrate the unity we have shared in the past year, the friends we have made, the fun we have had together and we ask God’s blessing on all our students and their families gathered here today. Penitential Act (All stand) I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Opening Prayer We thank you, gracious God, for the gifts of life and of love; we thank you for the gifts of learning and of intelligence. We ask you that you will always help us to use these gifts in your service. Give us a lively faith in you that will be stronger than any doubts we have, a hope that will take us through any hard times of life, and a love that is sincere as we give ourselves in your service. We ask this through Christ the Lord. Amen. Liturgy of the Word First Reading A reading from the prophet Hosea (Adapted from 11: 1-8) The Lord says, When you were a child I loved you….. I myself taught you to walk; I took you in my arms, Yet you…….did not understand that I was the one looking after you. I led you with reins of kindness, with leading strings of love, I was like someone who lifts an infant close against his cheek; Stooping down to you………..I gave you your food. How could I part with you, how could I give you up? The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God Achieving excellence together 3 Responsorial Psalm: God’s People Second Reading A reading from St Paul to the Corinthians (1: 4-9) Never stop thanking God for all the graces you have received through Jesus Christ.
