Created by the artist Candy Chang, Before I Die is a global art project that invites people to contemplate mortality and share their personal aspirations in public. The Before I Die project reimagines how walls of our cities can help us grapple with death and meaning as a community. 2 VOLUNTEER Join hundreds of volunteers to help make this year’s Doors Open a success. Volunteers sign up for at least one, four-hour shift to help greet and count visitors at each featured Doors Open site throughout the weekend. Bonus: Volunteers receive a badge that allows them to jump to the head of lines at Doors Open sites. To sign up, visit doorsopenmilwaukee.org. TICKETED TOURS Tickets went on sale online to Historic Milwaukee members on September 3 and to the general public on September 17. Participants will learn from staff about the Port’s international operations, what the Port’s responsibilities are within the City of Milwaukee, the varied business tenants of the Port, and where the Port’s cargoes originate from.
