I think she sounds so cool, sensitive and tough at the same time ,when she sings it. I love the arrangement and the way the backing singers sing too! Did she perform the song live? I think I've read that she recorded it before Janis Joplin did it? Is that true? I couldn't find Dusty's version of the song on Youtube... Then Janis Joplin as well as Dusty did their versions both in 1968, but I'm not sure who was first. I normally always prefer Dusty, but Janis Joplin's raspy voice is also very cool and fits perhaps better. Janis' version was the first I heard and I've always loved it But I think it's impossible to compare it with Dusty's - they are both so good but in different ways. I love Dusty's restrained and powerfull version too!
