The next dates are: 8th & 22nd March & 5th & 19th April. Last year we raised over £1000 at our coffee mornings which all goes towards our Friends commitment to get a toilet and tea bar installed and support the ongoing repair works to the church and churchyard. We applied to Allchurches Trust for a grant towards the work and were lucky to receive a cheque for £1,500 on 24th December. This has given us the encouragement to apply to other grant bodies to see if we can raise the remaining money this year. Who knows 2020 could be the year of the toilet! If you want to donate you can do so via our just giving page which is below; Gill Hughes, Friends Chairman. 01952 541659 Log on to our just giving site - www.justgiving.com/fobolaschurch/ Contact via email [email protected] North Shropshire Walking Football Since the last issue there has been a change to venues and times of our sessions. Both winter sessions will now be indoors at the: Maurice Chandler Centre Tues 2-3pm & Thur 4-5pm. The latest details of our sessions will always be on our Facebook page, so pay us a visit. The group continues to flourish, averaging 15+ players per session. Plans are afoot to launch a mini tournament in April where we will be joined by a team from Telford as well as two other teams from across the Welsh border. For the first time we will be entering the People’s Cup, not to mention the possibility of taking the boys on tour to Spain later in the year!! Above all this is a friendly group where guys come together to share their love of football. What better way to keep fit and meet new friends or old acquaintances. If you’re not sure pop down and watch a session and see if it’s for you. It’s not just players we are looking for, we are always on the look out for refs, coaches as well as helpers to organise the club and its sessions - age, sex and ability is no barrier. In other words a place for anyone who wants to join us. 7 Walking Group The Walking Group meets on the third Sunday of the month at 11am at the Red Lion pub (& often returns there for refreshment!); Our next walk will be on 17th March, weather permitting.
