Approval of this request will mean that an estimated $22,652 in fees and salary costs will be absorbed by the City (Contact: Natalie Lembeck (213) 201-9255, fax (213) 201- 1355). I THEREFORE MOVE that the "AIDS Walk Los Angeles" be declared a Citywide Special Event, and that City departments be requested to waive all fees, costs, and requirements, except insurance. I FURTHER MOVE that the Event Sponsor be .directed to fulfill the insurance requirements of the City by contacting the Bureau of Street Services Street Use Inspection Division at (213) 485-3711 to obtain, and complete, the necessary insurance forms upon adoption of this Motion by the City Council. I FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No. 150567 relating to temporary street closures, the following streets be closed on October 18, 2009 from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, subject to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services: • La Cienega Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard • Melrose Place between La Cienega Boulevard and Orlando Avenue • Melrose Avenue between La Cienega Boulevard and La Brea Avenue • La Brea Avenue between Melrose Avenue and Beverly Boulevard • Beverly Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard I FURTHER MOVE that the Bureau of Street Services be directed to deliver and pick up the necessary traffic control devices. I FURTHER MOVE that the Department of Transportation be directed to post "Temporary No Stopping" signs, provide traffic control personnel, and k-rails at the following locations: • Intersection of Melrose Avenue and La Brea Avenue • Intersection of La Brea Avenue and Beverly Boulevard • Beverly Blvd at Croft Avenue (north side of Beverly to separate a parking garage exit from the walkers) • Beverly Boulevard west of La Cienega Boulevard (to create dedicated lane for vehicular traffic along North side of street adjacent to walkers) I FURTHER MOVE that the Bureau of Sanitation be directed to sweep City streets following this event. · - OCT 6 2009 ' 7 I FURTHER MOVE that should any unforeseen circumstances change the actual date of the Special Event, the aforementioned departmental instructions continue to apply.
