WWW.FTBOA.COM Bringing Down The House By Ocala,Brock Fla.— SheridanThe Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company con- tinued their streak of successful sales Monday with the opening day of the four-day April sale showing double-digit increases in every category including a sale topper by Florida-bred Limehouse out of a Housebuster mare. For the day, 189 horses brought a total of $11,372,500, compared with 186 horses selling for a total of $7,533,000 at last year’s opening session. The average price was $60,172, soaring 48.6% from $40,500 last year while the median price was $37,000, rising 48% compared with $25,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 18.9%; it was 20.2% last year. Thirty-four horses sold for $100,000 or more compared with 14 in 2012. The top sellers went late in the sale Monday with Hip Num- ber 292 topping the ledger at $320,000 from the consignment of Dr. Barry Eisaman’s Eisaman Equine, Agent. Purchased by Alex and JoAnn Lieblong, the Limehouse filly is out of the Housebuster mare Dominica, herself stakes-placed and a full sister to stakes winner Find the Treasure.
