Candidates standing for election under Notice item 1 The two directors retiring by rotation at the AGM and standing for re-election are Simon Wheeler and Geoff Kempin. Geoff Kempin Geoff began his career in the music industry in 1974, marketing new releases for EMI Records. In 1980, EMI appointed him Founder of their visual company Picture Music International. He was a Founder / Director of VPL in that year and has been a Director up until the present date – the last four years as Chairman of VPL. His career has been dedicated to having video monetised through broadcast and home video business. In 1997, Geoff was a Founder / Director of Eagle Rock Entertainment, where he remains Executive Director following its acquisition by Universal Music in 2016. He is Executive Producer of many live concerts, documentaries, and music based mini-series including Classic Albums and most recently Icons Music Behind The Lens currently being broadcast on Sky. Simon Wheeler Previously a musician, engineer, producer, remixer and promoter, Simon has been with The Beggars Group since 1990. Starting work with online distribution in 1997, Simon has since worked with almost every significant entity in digital media. He has spoken at most music conferences around the world on digital music and media strategy, made statements to the UK parliament and has testified at the USA's CRB webcasting proceedings. But the most important role is keeping the Beggars Group of labels at the forefront of all new technologies to deliver its roster of artists to the widest possible audience.
