Association. C. Fund Raising and Contributions. Junior Auxiliary Prayer Send us, O God, as Thy messengers to the hearts without a home, to lives without love, to the crowds without a guide. Send us to the children whom none have blessed, to the famished whom none have visited, to the fallen whom none have lifted, to the bereaved whom none have comforted. Kindle Thy flame on the altars of our hearts, that others may be warmed thereby; cause Thy light to shine in our souls, that others may see the way; keep our sympathies and insight ready, our wills keen, our hands quick to help others in their need. Grant us clear vision, true judgment, with great daring as we seek to right the wrong; and so endow us with cheer- ful love that we may minister to the suffering and forlorn even as Thou wouldst. May the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, rest upon us and upon all our work. May He give us light to guide us, courage to support us, and love to unite us now and forever more. I will be retiring on May 1 after 18 years as your Executive Director. The experience has been more than I could have ever imagined. I have met thousands of Junior Auxiliary members and have made hundreds of lifelong friends. I have made trips to visit your Chapters and along the way helped many of you through some pretty tough issues. Daily, I answered questions and gave support to those “in the field”. The area and annual meetings have been so much fun to plan and then even more fun to attend. I can only imagine how many NAJA committee meetings I have attended. The work that your volunteers do at the national level is important and they are so dedicated to the Association and to supporting you at the local level. This has not just been a job, it has been much of my life…a life that I loved! But, it is now time for me to put my family first. I have seven grandchildren that I want to spend more time with. Some are almost grown and on their own! A committee will soon be meeting to begin the search for my replacement. I cannot wait to meet the fourth woman to take over the helm and help her learn the ropes. A new day is dawning as we move from celebrating our 75th anniver- Merrill Greenlee (Mrs.Thomas) sary…into the future. Exciting days are ahead and I cannot wait to read about all that is Post Office Box 1873 happening around our Association through The Crownlet. I know you will make me proud Greenville, MS 38702-1873 with your continued service to those in need, especially the children. May God bless each (662) 332-3000 office of you, your families, and the work that you do. Our Junior Auxiliary Prayer says it well: we help the children whom none have blessed, the famished whom none have visited, the fallen whom none have lifted, and the bereaved whom none comforted. I encourage you and your Chapter to use the 2017-2018 Bulletin as a means to find new ways to pay it forward. Each of our 92 Chapters has a Bulletin page listing its service pro- jects, finance projects (along with the net amount raised), and public relations efforts. This information about what other Chapters are doing may inspire you to add a new service or fundraising project. Ask the leaders of other Chapters about their projects and how they might fit your community. The contact information for Chapter officers and committee chairs is listed in the Bulletin. I encourage Chapters to help each other reach our common goal of rendering charitable service to the public with a particular emphasis on children. Did you know the Bulletin can be used to train Provisional Members and educate Active Members? It not only contains valuable information about the local Chapter but also the JA Prayer, JA Slogan, and our current National Focus. The Bulletin also lists the contact infor- mation for all National Officers, Chapter Support Coordinators, Standing Committee Members, Chapter Development Coordinators, NAJA Foundation Trustees, NAJA PRESIDENT Parliamentarian, and NAJA Staff so that you can reach out to them if you have a question. Charlott Jones Members can learn what happened at last year’s AEC by reading the minutes from the 1621 Montez Drive Plenary Session, Business Meeting, and Awards Banquet. Provisionals and Actives can learn Jonesboro, AR 72401 about the NAJA Graduate Scholarship Program by reading the Report of the NAJA (870) 275-3378 cell Scholarship Committee. This Bulletin report gives the history of the program and lists the (870) 931-9580 home scholarship recipients. Maybe members can even find your Chapter’s name in the list of (870) 935-2871 office award winners over the years or the list of past NAJA Presidents. [email protected] Seventy-five years ago, our founders assessed themselves $5 each to begin their work to pay it forward. Your efforts to make your community a better place to live continues their tra- dition. Thank you for your contributions and service. I wish you a successful and productive year and hope you find new ways to Pay It Forward$ 4 NAJA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2017-2018 FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT Leslie James (Mrs. Keith) 2512 Shepherwood Lane Germantown, TN 38138 (870) 636-9898 cell [email protected] TREASURER SECOND VICE-PRESIDENT THIRD VICE-PRESIDENT Regina Spratlin Emily Johnson Kelly Freeland (Mrs. Ricky) 4628 Union Rd 3389 Joffre Avenue 1317 Oxford Place Sardis, MS 38666 Memphis, TN 38111-4556 Greenville, MS 38701-8329 (662) 487-3188 home (870) 897-1789 cell (662) 332-5536 home (662) 609-4950 office [email protected] (662) 379-8104 office [email protected] (662) 347-8386 cell (662) 379-8020 FAX [email protected] RECORDING SECRETARY MARKETING VICE-PRESIDENT EX-OFFICIO Audra Gaines Lauren Lisowe Jeanne Hildebrandt (Mrs. Michael) 1996 Shelby Drive (Mrs. David) 4643 Heritage Drive Benton, AR 72015-8850 211 Dutton Court Olive Branch, MS 38654-7398 (404) 964-3236 cell Slidell, LA 70461 (901) 652-2136 cell [email protected] (985) 643-7120 home [email protected].
