Members of the Belgian arachnological Society explored the island thoroughly and mention here 292 species occurring on the island. Fortytwo of them are cited for the first time in Greece. These are: sixteen Linyphiidae: Centromerus albidus Simon, Dactylopisthes digiticeps (Simon), Hypsocephalus dahli (Lessert, 1909), Microctenonyx subitanea (O.P.-Cambridge), Microneta viaria
