The certificate of said Patten bearing date 17 May 1725 for 711 acres more or less. Know that a certain William Dirickson was seized with the Right and title of the whole of the Land contained in the Patten called Vine’s Neck in his lifetime and in his Last Will and Testament bearing date 7 April 1758 devised the above mentioned Lands to his two Daughters namely Mary and Elizabeth. Mary to have the lower part and Elizabeth the upper part of the land. Thomas and John Aydelott, sons of John Aydelott, Bricklayer. John married Mary Lockwood, and Thomas married Rebecca Lockwood, Aaron Aydelott married Arcada Lockwood. Aaron was the son of Samuel Aydelott. Tradition has it that these three Aydelott boys with their wives moved to Ohio at or about the same time, and settled in Butler County and surrounding areas”. Aydelott transcribed the Will of Thomas Aydelott of Montgomery Co., Indiana dated 29 Jan 1848 [[Order Bk. 4, p. 253]. Note following transcription: “The above Thomas Aydelott is the son of John Aydelott, Bricklayer of Sussex County, Del. Thomas had a brother John Aydelott. These two boys married two Lockwood girls, Thomas married Rebecca Lockwood and John married Mary. Both boys moved to Ohio shortly after the year 1800. Aaron Aydelott who married Arcada Lockwood and they all moved to Ohio at or about the same time.
