As one of 16 editors for the Oprah Winfrey show, Professor Kilpatrick has won Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing” in 2000, 2002 and in 2004. He’s been nominated for an Emmy ten times for his work on the show. What most people don’t know about Professor Kilpatrick is that despite his national recognition in the field of television, teaching is truly his real love. “I have a job [teaching], but to me it’s not a job. It’s a love and a passion,” he asserts. “Helping my students get prepared for the real world, and learning from them as much as I teach them, is what keeps me going in life. I want my students to go one step farther in life than I did, to achieve a goal greater than mine,” Kilpatrick says. “That would be a great accomplishment for me.
