European Parliament 2014-2019 Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs LIBE_PV(2017)0529_1 MINUTES Meeting of 29 May 2017, 15.00-18.30 and 30 May 2017, 9.00-12.30 and 14.00-19.00 BRUSSELS The meeting opened at 15.07 on Monday, 29 May 2017, with Birgit Sippel (S&D) in the chair. 1. Adoption of agenda LIBE_OJ (2017)0529_1 The agenda was adopted with the following modifications: - New point 11a: Vote on the Coordinators’ recommendation not to send a letter to the Legal Affairs Committee in view of a possible action for failure to act before the European Court of Justice regarding visa reciprocity. 2. Chair's announcements The Chair informed that interpretation in Croatian and Gaelic would not be available during this meeting. Endorsement of Coordinators' recommendations pursuant to Rule 205(2): - Coordinators’ recommendation not to send a letter to the Legal Affairs Committee in view of a possible action for failure to act before the European Court of Justice as a follow up to the European Parliament resolution of 2 March 2017 on obligations of the Commission in the field of visa reciprocity in accordance with Article 1(4) of Regulation (EC) No 539/2001 (2016/2986(RSP)). The Chair announced that a vote on that matter would take place the following day at 11.30. - Mr Claude MORAES has been nominated Rapporteur in his institutional capacity as Chair on the report on the "Memorandum of Understanding between the European Agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice and Eurojust" - 2017/0804(CNS). The Coordinators’ recommendation was rejected with 21 votes in favour, 35 votes against and 0 abstentions. The Chair will therefore send the mentioned letter to the Legal Affairs Committee. 12.
