Using internal sources from the journal, the author outlines the founding purpose, broad structure and general thematic contents of the journal since its foundation. He places Studia Moralia in the gen- eral context of its times and hints at some of the lessons that might be gleaned from such a reading. The purpose of the article is to point to- wards tasks for the future rather than claim to be an exhausive history of the past. Con este artículo se quiere conmemorar los ’40 años’ de la revista Studia Moralia. Empleando las fuentes internas, el autor subraya el objetivo de su fundación, su estructura externa y los contenidos temáti- cos generales. Tras ubicar Studia Moralia en el contexto general de su época, trata de recoger algunas de las lecciones que pueden aflorar a través de su lectura. El objetivo del artículo, más que hacer la historia exhaustiva del pasado, propone un indicador de tareas para el futuro. KLAUS ARNTZ „DER WIDERSPENSTIGEN ZÄHMUNG“ MORALTHEOLOGIE ALS KRITISCHE ZEITGENOSSENSCHAFT (1902-2002) Exactly one hundred years ago, Joseph Mausbach – a moral the- ologian at the University of Münster – published his article on „Neueste Vorschläge zur Reform der Moraltheologie” in order to promote the 266 SUMMARIES / RESÚMENES main intentions of those moral theologians of the 19th century who tried to develop a modern and scientific foundation for moral theology. In this specific context, the life and work of Alfonsus M. de Liguori be- came of special importance and interest because of his canonization and declaration as a doctor ecclesiae. Taking account of the theolog- ical and biographical profile of Bernhard Häring, the article explains how Catholic moral theology made its way through the 20th century, developing as an independent scientific discipline and as a specifically theological ethic. Hace exactamente un siglo Joseph Mausbach, teólogo moralista de la Universidad de Münster, publicaba el artículo titulado “Neueste Vorschläge zur Reform der Moraltheologie” con el que daba nuevo im- pulso al empeño reformista de los teólogos del s. XIX. En este contex- to específico la vida y obra de Alfonso M. de Liguori se presenta con un interés e importancia especial a partir de su canonización y proclama- ción como Doctor de la Iglesia. En el perfil teológico y biográfico de Bernhard Häring se pone de manifiesto el largo camino que, en con- frontación crítico-constructiva con la teología de S. Alfonso, ha reali- zado la teología moral católica para afirmarse como disciplina científi- ca independiente y como ética específicamente teológica. IGNAZIO SANNA L’ANTROPOLOGIA DELLA POSTMODERNITÀ E LA COSCIENZA CRISTIANA The present article aims to show how contemporary culture has led to the eclipse of the moral sense in that it has seriously damaged hu- man conscience. In this difficult situation, moral theology and the Church are called to do all they can to protect and safeguard human conscience, so that the moral sense can be refound. The weakness of our sense of who God is, of who man is, and of what the world is, has brought about a culture of doing whatever is possible, with a mere eth- ic of the finite, based on the contract and the convention. In order to re- find the moral sense and safeguard human conscience, the Church must have the courage to announce the so-called “christian difference”, the transcendence of the Gospel, and propose an ethic of the infinite. SUMMARIES / RESÚMENES 267 El presente artículo intenta demostrar cómo la cultura contem- poránea ha conducido al eclipse del sentido moral por cuanto ha daña- do seriamente la conciencia humana. En esta situación difícil, la teología y la Iglesia están llamadas a hacer cuanto está en su poder para proteger y salvaguardar la conciencia humana, de modo que el sentido moral pueda ser redescubierto. La debilidad de nuestro sentido de quién es Dios, quién es el hombre y qué es el mundo ha conducido a una cultura del hacer lo posible con una mera ética de lo finito, basa- da en el contrato y en la convención. Para reencontrar el sentido moral y salvaguardar la conciencia humana, la Iglesia debe tener el coraje de anunciar la llamada “diferencia cristiana”, la trascendencia del Evan- gelio, y de proponer una ética de lo infinito. LORENZO ALVAREZ L’AUTOSUFICENZA (L’AUTARQUÍA), ELEMENTO CONSTITUTIVO DEL LA LIBERTAD CRISTIANA The theme of self-sufficiency (autarquía) has frequently been viewed with distrust on the part of theology, especially in the protestant world, on the basis of a restrictive interpretation of “sola gratia”. In this study, we will try to see how “self-sufficiency”, which was a funda- mental concept in the idea of freedom in Greek thought, continues to be so in the context of the freedom for which Christ has set us free. Our discussion will follow closely the discourse of St. Paul, studying self- sufficiency at the general ethical level, at the level of the apostolate and social structures and at the level of the economic life of the communi- ties. The study concludes with a note on the modalities which the re- lationship between self-sufficiency and christian solidarity might as- sume. El tema de la autosuficiencia (autarquía) ha sido frecuentemente visto con desconfianza por parte de la teología, especialmente en el mundo protestante, a partir de una interpretación restrictiva de la “so- la gratia”. En nuestro estudio trataremos de ver cómo la “autarquía”, que fue un concepto fundamental en la concepción de la libertad en el pensamiento griego, sigue siéndolo en el contexto de la libertad para la cual nos ha liberado Cristo.
