Membership: 21 members, of whom must be made up of consumers of services, low income and minority persons shall be represented in proportion to their number in the area; 1 representative of San Mateo County nutrition project. The majority of the commissioners must be over 60 years of age. Term: 3 years; maximum 9 years Duties: Advises the Board of Supervisors, develops and conducts programs in conformity with specific provisions of Older Americans Act of 1965 subject to approval of the Board of Supervisors. Appointment: Board of Supervisors. Interviews are conducted by the Board of Supervisors or the Appointments Committee. Composition of Appointments Committee: 1 person each selected by President Board of Supervisors, Chair Commission on Aging, Community College District Senior Advisory Committee, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Senior Forum Meetings: Second Monday of every month, 9 a.m., Health Services Agency Office, Room B, 225 W. 37th Avenue, San Mateo.
