In 1998 during her 1997 8-9-1 (.472) 2-1 (second) third season, the team took the first NCC title in school 1998 10-6 (.625) 2-1 (first) history with a 2-1 league mark before repeating that 1999 10-8-1 (.553) 3-2-1 (fourth) feat with another title in 2000, this time with a spotless 2000 16-3-1 (.823) 9-0 (first) 9-0 mark on conference play and a school-record 16 2001 15-4-0 (.789) 8-1 (tied first) overall wins. In 2001, the Mavericks claimed a share 2002 14-6-0 (.700) 5-3 (tied third) of the title with an 8-1 record before adding another 2003 14-6-2 (.690) 6-1 (first) in 2003. That team went 6-1 while claiming the post- 2004 10-7-1 (.583) 3-3 (fourth) season championship on its own turf in a shoot-out with 2005 11-9-1 (.548) 9-2-1 (second) the University of North Dakota. The first trip to the NCAA Championships followed, and the Mavericks 2006 9-6-3 (.588) 7-3-2 (second) responded with a first-round
