Sunday, 12 January 2020 Page 3 of 22 SYDENHAMS FOOTBALL LEAGUE NEWS 2019/20 EDITION NUMBER 28 LEAGUE NEWS We have been supplied by the FA with a list of promotion applications received prior to the 31 December application cut-off. We have been allocated a number of clubs to ensure ground grading requirements are met for acceptance in our Division One. Those applying will have this carried out as soon as possible, with the club being advised as to what needs to be addressed to achieve an H grade by March 31st. Some may have been inspected in the recent past so may have satisfied the requirements and these may or may not be undertaken by our own Grading Officer. Please note that these are at a preliminary stage and locally there are nine teams who have applied, four from the Hampshire Premier League three from the Dorset Premier League and two from the Wiltshire Senior League, and they are- Bush Hill - Hampshire Premier League Dorchester Sports - Dorset Premier League Fleetlands - Hampshire Premier League Gillingham Town - Dorset Premier League Hamworthy Recreation - Dorset Premier League Infinity - Hampshire Premier League Kintbury Rangers - Wiltshire Senior League Melksham Town Reserves - Wiltshire Senior League Stockbridge - Hampshire Premier League Melksham of course “share” with their first team who currently are in the Southern League, as do Dorchester Sports, so in theory they’ve passed the ground grading requirement. Good luck to all nine and the other 75 odd from across the country. The grading document for level H is some 10 pages long so we’ll not reproduce it here, but those clubs being inspected will be made fully aware of the requirements. More news as and when we get it, but here’s the overall summary as at time of writing, which in no way confirms allocation to leagues! The hosts looked to have two or three players missing- no doubt with the Buildbase FA Vase clash against Sutton Common Rivers in mind. The game was spoilt by a constant drizzle that made the surface quite slick and also resulted in some areas cutting up, hopefully the surface recovered in time.
