Let Frederica Senior Center help.” </em></p><p>If you are over the age of 60 and a member of Frederica Senior Center and would like help with your grocery shopping, errands, Frederica Senior Center can do it for you. </p><p><strong>Shopping Service includes: </strong></p><p> Grocery shopping for the homebound or those recuperating from surgery or illness. Errands to the post office, library, city hall, etc. Check-in/safety visits. </p><p><strong>Don’t see a service listed? Just ask! All requests will be considered. </strong></p><p>This service is available to the elderly or disabled who are members of Frederica Senior Center. Personal shopping lists can be placed early in the week. Stay in the home when cooking your turkey and check on it frequently. Keep children away from the stove.The stove will be hot and kids should stay 3 feet away. Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids.The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns. </p><p> Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags. </p><p> Keep knives out of the reach of children. Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child. <br> Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children — up high in a locked cabinet. Never leave children alone in room with a lit a candle. Make sure your smoke alarms are working.Test them by pushing the test button. </p><p><strong>On our way to a concert in Petersburg </strong></p><p><strong>Johnny Cake Singers Are Back!!!!! </strong></p><p>After a two month vacation, the Johnny Cake <br>Singers are back and practicing every Thursday from 10:00-11:00. On Nov 21 we will be singing at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford and then on Dec 19 we will bring Christmas Cheer to Milford Manor. <br>We have lost a few of our members because they have moved away or unable to participate because of health issues. <br>We need you to join us. You will be blessed by knowing you are helping someone less fortunate. So please join us, we need you help! </p><p><strong>11 </strong></p><p>Annual Frederica Senior Center Fundraiser begins November 1st </p><p>(Your contributions will allow us to continue to grow and provide the best possible facilities and services.) </p><p>Frederica Senior Center provides a variety of programs and services for people age 55 and over or disabled. The two primary services include, outreach social services and nutrition. </p><p>Outreach help seniors and many veterans navigate through a maze of information, forms, applications and resources to assist seniors to live safely in their own homes. Frederica Senior Center Outreach program provides transportation to seniors for daily attendance and medical appointments. </p><p>The nutrition program offers free and low cost home cooked breakfast and noon meals on weekdays. We are pleased to announce our meals services has increased over one hundred percent since last year; serving over twelve hundred meals last month alone. But as meals service increases, so does the cost for the center to provide these hot home cooked nutritious meals. </p><p>Frederica Senior Center is asking for you to donate to our fund drive this year to continue to provide the needs of our growing senior population.
