After a renovated celebration of 17th Third Eye Asian Film Festival, Prabhat's very own international film festival last month, let's get ready for yet another worthwhile film event. 9th Yashwant International Film Festival is happening from 20th to 25th Jan 2019. The venue will be Y. B Chavan Center, Churchgate. Delegate registration is already started at the venue. Registration fees for delegates is Rs. 200. Mrinal Sen, one of the pioneers of “new wave” cinema in India, known for his experimentation and unconventional treatment, died few days ago. The director of Bhuvan Shome, Ek Din Achanak, Calcutta 71 and Khandhar, whose filmmaking career spanned from 1955 to 2002. Sen’s death marks the passing of a golden generation of Bengali filmmakers that also included Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak. Prabhat deeply consoles this loss of film industry and wish to pay our homage to this uncompromising artist in coming month by screening some of his great films. Another loss we suffered recently was the famous actor and talented writer Kader Khan. He has worked with directors like Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra. He has featured in over 300 films.
