STATIONS OF THE CROSS AT ST CUTHBERT’S: This week’s Stations of the Cross at St Cuthbert’s will be on Wednesday, 18th March at 10:00am. All are welcome to attend. CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY: Please place any outstanding envelopes from last week’s Family Fast Day collection in the general collection this weekend. Many thanks for your generosity. LENTEN STATION MASSES: This week’s Lenten Station Mass is here at St Luke’s on Tuesday evening at 7pm. Please try to attend as part of our Lenten pilgrimage as a Local Missionary Area. CAFOD LENTEN SOUP LUNCHES: Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Soup Lunches have been suspended. Lenten Devotions and Mass at midday will continue as usual. COLLECTION FOR FLOWERS: There will be a second collection after the Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses at St Luke’s next weekend to help pay for the flowers which so beautifully decorate our church, especially during our Easter celebration. Father Dermot Byrne also sends his personal thanks for the welcome he received. ST PATRICK’S DAY – PARISH SOCIAL: Unfortunately, due to the current situation, this event has now been CANCELLED. If you bought tickets last weekend refunds are available from the ticket sellers. Otherwise, hold on to your tickets – they will be valid for our next social event! DIOCESAN MISSION FOR CATECHESIS: For priests, parents, catechists and all those interested in passing on our precious Faith in Jesus Christ in today’s world, you are welcome at the launch of the new diocesan mission for catechesis on Saturday 4th April 2020 at Our Lady Mother of the Saviour between 10.00am and 3.00 pm. These dates are especially for those in the Warrington and Runcorn deanery of the Diocese. Please bring a packed lunch. The total for 2019 was 234.42 kg, which equates to helping 18 people with a 3 day emergency food parcel. UNITY BRASS CONCERT: Thank you to everybody who supported the Churches Together in Frodsham concert at St Laurence's. An evening of music was greatly enjoyed by the local community. A total of £878 was raised for the victims fund for Modern Slavery. SINGING THE WORD! PROCLAIMING THE WORD THROUGH MUSIC: Singing the Word is a day offered by the Diocesan Liturgy Commission for cantors, singers, instrumentalists, clergy and congregations. In this Year of the Word, you are invited on Saturday 21 March from 10am to 3pm to join the Liturgy Commission at Saint John Plessington Catholic College on the Wirral. Places are £5 payable on the day to help cover costs (6 places for £25). CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS: Following guidance from the Bishops’ Conference, until further notice: Holy Communion will not be distributed under both kinds; the Host is to be received in your hand. Eucharistic Ministers will wash their hands before distributing Communion. At the Sign of Peace bow your heads to each other but do not shake hands. The collection plate will be placed on the altar to avoid the baskets being passed from hand to hand. Hymn books will not be used. Please take home the copy of the newsletter that you have used.
