Registration Registration for all school districts in the SARIC Region 10 are in STI-PD: http://pdweb.alsde.edu/ You may register for any workshop at any location unless it is other wise noted; you are not Restricted to workshops held in the school system where you are employed. Room accommodations, hand-outs, and presentations will be based on the number of people who pre-register. In order to make the workshops as effective and enjoyable for everyone, please: • Bring a sweater or light-weight jacket • Arrive on time • Register only for those workshops at your grade level • Do not bring children If you register for a workshop and find you cannot attend, please call (251)380-2741. If you decide to attend a workshop for which you did not register, please call to make sure there is room and the workshop is still scheduled. SARIC has voice mail, so you may call before or after hours and leave a message. Cancellation of Workshops: Should there not be a sufficient number of pre-registrations five (5) days prior to a workshop, it will be cancelled. Those who have pre-registered will be notified. Instructions for Registration in STI-PD Log on to the ALSDE STI Professional Development program: http://pdweb.alsde.edu/ 1. Click on the PD Titles tab. 2. Click on Search the PD Title Catalog. 3. Enter the PD Title Number of the session that you wish to attend in the prompt for PD Title Number on the right side of the screen. 4. Click Search Now 5. You will now see the matching PD titles at the bottom of your screen. You may have to use the !scroll bar to view the PD title. 6. Click on List to the right of the session title in blue and scroll to the session you would like to attend. (Please double check date, time and location before proceeding.) 7. Click Enroll Now for the session you wish to attend. ** You must check your e-mail account over the summer. All confirmations and/or workshop changes are sent through STI-PD e-mail. Please make sure your contact information is current in STI-PD, especially your email address and telephone number. If your user name and/or password do not work, consult your system-level PD coordinator at your Central Office. Please register as soon as possible, a program must have a minimum of five (5) enrolled participants, at least five (5) days before the program begins, or the program will be cancelled. You must register for each program through STI PD, as SARIC cannot register for you. In our workshop participants are given a hands-on experience where they not only learn about these fascinating devices, but get to print their very own 3-D models! The Archaeology Museum at the University of South Alabama is pleased to partner with the Mobile County Public School System and present: Jean-Paul’s Daring Adventure: Stories From Old Mobile. This graphic novel tells the story of the Le Sueur family who canoed from Montreal to Mobile in 1704. This workshop will provide teachers with an overview of Old Mobile, the first French settlement in the United States. Teachers will learn more about the LeSueur's amazing journey and receive the lesson plans developed to accompany the new graphic novel. Come and see how the past can come to life! Gr. 4-11 STIPD#: SARIC#9836 Program #: 54 June 26, 2015 Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm History Museum of Mobile Maximum Number of Participants: 35 Description: Learn about our local history and its connections to state and national history in this one day seminar. College professors and history specialists will give presentations beginning with the Progressive Era and ending with the Civil Rights Era. Information on the programs that the museum offers for school groups will also be given. Participants will receive a pre-visit packet with museum information and lesson plans that tie to the museum’s exhibits. Speakers: Progressive Era – David E. K-12) Program #: 94 STIPD# SARIC#9880 July 22, 2015 8:00am – 2:00 pm Meet at the Monroe County Courthouse Learn about historical events and sites that focus on early Alabama History, including the Indian Territory era, pioneer settlement, the significance of the Federal Road, mill towns, and steamboat traffic on the Alabama River.
