Singru, urban Tdevelopment specialist, Central and West Asia Urban Development and Water Division, Central and West Asia Department (CWUW-CWRD), and prepared with a team consisting of Vaideeswaran Sankaran, senior environmental engineer and climate change specialist; Joseph Salukvadze, professor, Tbilisi State University; and Marc Popesco, urban planner, Group Huit. The first stage of the assessment was conducted between late 2012 and March 2013 by Marc Popesco through numerous consultations with the Government of Georgia. Giorgi Gigauri provided support for the cartography and graphs. The second stage conducted from October 2014 to February 2015 covered an urban visioning and stakeholder consultation workshop involving central ministries and local governments, stakeholders, donors, and civil society; consultations at the Sustainable Urban Integrated Transport Forum; and secondary data review and analysis based on further discussions with relevant agencies.
