BURNS GOVERNOR Message from Acting Governor George R. Ariyoshi July, 1974 It gives me a great deal of pleasure to extend my personal greetings to all of the participants in the 26th Annual Keo Nakama Senior and Age-Group Long-Course Swimming and Diving Meet. In years past, Hawaii's swimmers have gained recognition on an international scale and Hawaii has become known for its water sports and aquatic champions. For this reason, I personally congratulate all of you for endeavoring to keep Hawaii's swimmers and water enthusiasts in the forefront. I know that we can look forward to more future champions emerging from this meet and others like it in the future. This Administration has given continuing support to all forms of competitive sports activity and we are hopeful of providing even better sports facilities for championship aquatic sports competition, so that the youth of our society will have all the opportunities possible to develop their own native talents and abilities. To each of you I extend my very best wishes for a most successful swimming meet. 9-40-2tz-'404 2 FRANK F. FASI MAYO R. June 5, 1974 MESSAGE Once again I am pleased to welcome you to the annual Keo Nakama Senior and Age-Group Swimming Meet on behalf of the City and County of Honolulu. During this 26th annual meet may all the participants and all the spectators display the sportsmanship and aloha that have made it one of the most outstanding swimming events anywhere. To Coach Soichi Sakamoto, I extend a warm personal aloha and a heartfelt maharo for all that he means to the Hawaii Swimming Club and to swimming in Hawaii. As the City and County continues to expand and improve its swimming programs and facilities, so will the caliber and abilities of our future swimming stars improve. It will be men like Coach Sakamoto and swimming meets such as this one that will continue to assure Hawaii of its rightful place in the forefront of the swimming world. • FRANK F.
