PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE I hope you have been able to get your old cars out; Haid. I was unable to attend, but from what I have heard, the past month has had some very good weather to do that. it was a great day for a boat ride. Next up is the September I have seen a bunch of members out at nightly cruise nights Tour of Grand Island hosted by the Upton’s. This should and the Sunday car shows. In early August, I was able to be a very interesting tour, please try to attend. Our final attend to the Concourse D’Elegance of America in Detroit outdoor function of the year is a train ride out of Medina. where my brother showed his 1933 Willy’s Gasser, You will notice the sign-up sheet in this edition of the nostalgic racecar. He was one of 320 cars invited to attend, Sidelight. Being in the fall foliage time and for us to be it was very nice to have a car show on the fairways and able to get a train car all to ourselves, we need to get the greens of a private golf course, plus the quality of cars and reservations in a month in advance. I believe there are 56 the diversity of them was incredible. Club member Dan seats available in one car so the first 56 members who sign Gernatt is showing his 1930 Bentley at the Pebble Beach up will be in that car, any more after that will be in another Concourse D’Elegance in California on August 18th, which car with the other “regular” passengers who arrive that day is the top-rated car show in the world! Congrats to Dan to to take the tour. We will then tour to Tillman’s Restaurant be invited. for a buffet. Our August Board Meeting was hosted by Lon Till next time… Wilson at the Family Tree restaurant on August 5th. We Tim were glad to see John Haid, he said he wanted to thank everyone who sent a card to his wife Elaine recuperating Jeff Cryan's 1933 Willy's AA Gasser was invited to be after her fall last month. We think we have the mailing shown at the Concourse D'Elegance of America held situation at the Lockport post office corrected now. We August 3 just outside of Detroit. This car was built in the also discussed if any of the four Board members would be 1960's and raced extensively in California winning many leaving the Board at the end of the year. Linda Foster, events and making many magazine articles. Jeff Dennis Powers and Chuck Weimer all said that they would purchased the car a bunch of years ago and brought it to stay on for another three-year term. Chuck Facklam would the East Coast and is actively raced in many "nostalgic" like to take some time off from the Board but continue drag races throughout the East currently. 320 cars were being the Annual Car Show Co-Chairman. So, it looks like invited to attend and another member who was invited we need at least one member to volunteer to be a Board was Bob Barrett and his wife Jill who drove their 1913 member. Please give it some thought and let any Board Rolls Royce all the way from Angola! I also included a member know that you are interested. Ask any Board picture of a row of V-16 Cadillac's. After Pebble Beach member especially the newer ones for their thoughts on and Amelia Island Concourses, this is considered the next being a Board member. In addition, club member Jerry best show. If you ever get the chance to go it is really cool Ptak joined us for our monthly meeting as our new club to see all the cars on the golf course. Tim Cryan webmaster. He is taking over from long time webmaster Barb Noonan who has been our webmaster since the beginning. As the program Barb was using kind of crashed, Jerry has had to get up and running faster than he thought with the new program that National AACA wants to start using, so the website address will be changing and the link from National’s website might still be going to our “old” site. Please be patient as this transition occurs. Chuck and Mary Beth Facklam stepped up to take over the running of the August tour from John & Elaine ACTIVITIES REPORT Please remember to sign up early for these events and to November 10, 2019, Cliff Schulz will host treat your club mates with respect and consideration. “Desserts-R-Us” night.
