This is a relaxing spot to start your day and get introduced to this chaotic city. Jemaa El Fna Square & Souk Shopping From your first stop, you will walk here (~15 mins) along the small streets of the medina. The walk will show you a more traditional way of living and allow you to admire the complexity of this city. The souks surround the square so start shopping! Afternoon Lunch Spend some more time at Jemaa El Fna exploring the local food vendors and all the crazy options they offer. You if prefer a sit-down, opt-out for a cafe overlooking the square. Marrakech Museum Continuing the exploration of the old town, head over to the Museum from the maze of the souks which should be anywhere from 10 to 20 mins. You can admire great art as well as the outdoor gardens. If open after renovations, head over to Ben Youssef Madrasa which is nearby as well. Koutoubia Mosque Walk back to the mosque or catch a taxi and admire its beautiful exterior. It’s a short 10-minute walk and you cannot enter inside as a non-muslim. There is a small park outside worth a stop. Evening Fancy Dinner Find a good restaurant with a belly dancing/music show. It will cost you some money, however, it is worth indulging yourself with. There are many options in the city for a boujee dinner! Riad or Hostel Marrakech has beautiful lodging. Even hostels are ornate and offer some sweet rooftop views. This is an ornate burial site of the Saadian dynasty. El Badii Palace Located right next to the tombs, there two sites can be combined into one-stop. The palace offers beautiful views with a small reflecting pool. Afternoon Lunch After a historical and traditional morning, it is time to head to a new town or Gueliz. It has a very different vibe from the old town. Alcohol is much easier to come across and it is much more modern. Have a glass of wine and relax for your lunch break. Jardin Majorelle Walking through the newer town, you can reach this stunning garden and museum on foot. It is Yves Saint Laurent's former garden. You will be able to see a very different side of Marrakech in this area. Stay up to 2 hours. Gueliz Shopping If you were overwhelmed by the craziness of the souks, shopping in the new part of town will be a nice change for you. Anything from little shops to large shopping centers around Avenue Mohammed V. Evening Dinner Pick a place based on your cuisine likings and find a restaurant in the new town. Here you can drink alcohol much easier compared to the old town and it’s a completely different vibe. Back to Jemaa El Fna The chaos of the square needs to be experienced during the day and the night. The night makes it much more mysterious, loud, and just simply crazy. If it’s too much for you to walk around, I suggest grabbing a tea on the balcony of a restaurant and watching the chaos from above. Riad or Hostel Marrakech has beautiful lodging so take full advantage of your last night here by enjoying your stay. PERFECTDAYSOMEWHERE.COM.
