Father Wayne also mentioned the support the parish as a whole has received from the Quigleys. Parish Council Chair Nicola Mountain thanked the couple and presented them with a gift in appreciation of all they’ve done. It being the Feast Day of St Andrew, Patron Saint of Scotland, Michael was resplend- ent in his Black Watch kilt. He replied to Father and Nicola Mountain and showed a picture of when the building now used for the shop was up for sale (with a reflec- tion of the cross on the building). He also thanked and paid tribute to the many parishioners who have done duty in the shop over the years. “Without their input,” said Michael, “it would not have been possible for the shop to succeed.” He noted that it was not only Catholics who visited and made purchases from the Shop. It provided a needed service valued by the wider community. The couple were wished well by everyone. Mr Stuart Young, Diocesan General Manager, said, “Donations are crucial to enable the provision of such services.
