I’m A very proud to welcome Patti Hill Third Vice International President, along with W Maryvonne le Vot , District Governor from Normandy in France. C 5 This Convention is an Annual General Meeting of our District and gives every Lion 0 1 the opportunity to take part in any decisions taken to move our District forward. t c i No Convention would exist without a hard working team led by Keith Wilding , r t s planning every detail of organising and arranging this Convention, so in addition i D to the business section we hope that you will join us for the Host Night and the Banquet & Ball . Convention is not just about the business session it is also time to meet new friends and this time from around our new District, from South Wales, through Bristol, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester through to Rutland, Rugby & Northampton. I sincerely hope that you will find the programme of business mixed with some fun and listen to the incredible journey of Zara and Ian, which started long before the epic walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End. In the first six months of the Lions year, I have visited many Clubs who certainly prove without doubt “Where there is a need there is a Lion” , thank you all for the warm welcome. I look forward to seeing you at our Convention and I sincerely hope you have a really interesting and enjoyable time. This could be your first Convention and I hope that you will keep coming back year after year. PATTI HILL Canada Dr. Patti Hill from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was elected to serve as 3rd Vice President of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 102nd International Convention, held in Milan, Italy, 5th – 9th July, 2019. Vice-President Hill is president of a consulting firm. With 30 years of experience as a psychologist, she has mentored graduate students and psychologists in training. She has also championed the rights of children and youth who are deaf and/or blind. A member of the Edmonton Host Lions Club since 1990, Vice-President Hill has held many offices within the association, including District Chairperson for District 105M 44th Annual Convention Annual 44th 105M District Membership, Environment, Convention and International Co-operation and Understanding. Additionally, she has served as a committee member for the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum, Multinational Co-ordinator for Campaign SightFirst II, Secretary for the Lions Eyebank (Alberta) Society, Vice-President of the Lions Eye Research Institute of Northern Alberta and presenter at multiple forums and conventions. In recognition of her service to the association, Vice-President Hill has received numerous awards, including several International President’s Awards. She has been honoured with the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honour the association bestows upon its members. She is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, and recipient of numerous other fellowships. In addition to her Lions activities, Vice-President Hill is active in numerous professional and community organizations. She is a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta, the Canadian Psychological Association and the Community League. In the past, she served as an Executive Officer of the Alberta Association of School Psychologists and the Association of Canadian Educators of the Hearing Impaired. Vice-President Hill has also served on the Alberta Premier’s Council on Persons with Disabilities.
