Who The Walmart Associate Choir; Denver Mitchell, manager of Store 2702 in Nixa, Mo., and associates; local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals representatives and recipients Where Nixa, outside Springfield, Mo., Aug. 21, 2014 Why The choir gathers once a year to perform in and around Bentonville, Ark.; it sells CDs to raise money for this children’s charity. This year, the choir visited stores near Springfield and sang at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of CoxHealth, which serves more than 100,000 children each year. In 2013, 28 percent of its Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals funding came from 43 Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs, including $13,376 from Store 2702. Tim Siebert, the group’s executive director, says, “Think how many hearing aids, prescription drugs, wheelchairs, and services that can provide. These stories inspire others to do good in their communities in a Sam-like fashion. I have another Sam-like story: Our market HR manager, Charles Patterson, ran a breakroom-decorating contest.
