The renewable energy sector continues to increasingly carve a bigger space in the country’s economic sphere, encouraged by government funding and favourable industrial and governmental policies. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), India will be the fastest growing energy consumer and market by 2040. It has therefore positioned itself distinctively with its target of achieving sufficient renewable energy projects over the next three years to surpass 200 GW of green capacity. The target has created awareness about renewable energy in the country and will offer massive investment opportunities across the value chain. Telangana, since its establishment, has been playing an active role in aggressively supporting solar energy, along with other states in South India such as Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to promote renewable energy. The region truly holds promise for the sector with its profitable and favourable government and industrial policies. UBM India’s RenewX 2018 in Hyderabad is thus poised to create an enviable industry platform for organizations to capitalize and penetrate into the lucrative south Indian renewable energy market. Bringing together manufacturers, EPCs, distributors and service providers, the expo has over 150 participating exhibitors striving to make a difference in the renewable energy domain. Apart from the Telangana and China Pavilions, this year, a special Pavilion for Start- ups has been launched at RenewX for the first time. A major highlight of the expo is the power packed two day conference, ‘Sourcing the Sun’ that will focus on integrating Renewables into business, and finding the best solutions and practices to enable the same. The conference will also include Case Study Presentations and Technical Presentations to bring forth the experience from the ground and discuss the most pertinent issues in technology. Significantly, this year, UBM India in association with SCGJ is organising a ‘Green Job Fair’ for graduating students, working professionals, and new entrepreneurs who want to explore opportunities in the clean energy sector. It aims to provide opportunities to candidates to work with the leading names in the Renewable energy sector across a plethora of job roles. We sincerely thank all our partners and central nodal agencies such as the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd., (TSREDCO), Electronic Industries Association of Andhra Pradesh ( ELIAP ) , Skill Council for Green Jobs ( SCGJ ), Indo German Energy Forum – Support Office (IGEF)-, Telangana Electronic Manufacturing Industries association (TELMA), The Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI) and Indian Biogas Association (IBA) for their continued and unstinted support for the show.
