Happy Easter everybody, may the risen Lord be at the centre of this wonderful day when over two thousand years ago Jesus conquered death through his victory on the cross for our salvation and eternal life. Last year just before Mothering Sunday we went into lockdown for four months. I can recall that in one of my weekly reflections just before Easter I said that not even COVID could stop the resurrection of Jesus. And I have hung on to that thought from that day forward because it gave me a great deal of hope and trust that our saviour who always points to God was still very active in our lives, even in lockdown. I hope you have a wonderful celebration today with family and friends and don’t forget that Easter time is the most wonderful reminder of a creative, redeeming God who loves us so much that he gave us Jesus. What a wonderful gift. The dawn service is always special at St Martin’s and the sun rising on the stained-glass windows in the chapel adds to the intimacy and holy atmosphere many of us experience, not to mention the delicious breakfast that follows. A reminder that the church is worth seeing if you are not at the 9 am service, as the Easter garden is breathtaking. May God’s peace be with you all. Catherine House Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator Alexandra Growden will talk to us about the work of Catherine House and share some of the inspiring stories of women who have experienced homelessness and how they have made positive and purposeful changes in their lives. Please place your name on the list in the Hall if you wish to attend. Lunch is provided for a donation of $15 per head. Rev’d (Fr) Tony Tamblyn - Anzac Day Our dear Tony was meant to preach this Anzac Day after writing a sermon for last year's Anzac Day which was never preached because of COVID. This year it cannot be preached by Tony because he is with God, and it is a great honour that Julie has asked me to preach the sermon he wrote as Tony’s party gift to us, and indeed it is. It’s a very moving, powerful sermon.
