The paper we presented was well received, by all groups represented. #2 TMR wish to reduce the number of different sizes of number plates they produce, to just three sizes. The current S Plates are a odd size that don`t fit many vehicles. The Historic group would like the old square plates while the US size is another option. Slimline plates will stay, for front of vehicle placement, but motorcycle size plates on cars will not be an option. They also wish to know the preferred hole locations on the plates. For our Hot Rod & American car use, and even on Aussie classics, the USA size plate is arguably , the best option, and our recommendation , along with the standard Qld. issue size. #3 TMR have proposed changes to the SIV scheme with 4 options 1 Stay with current SIV system. 2 Current SIV system but with the option of buying an extra 20 days per registration period (year ?) for private use ,with a logbook to record usage. 3 Full Logbook Scheme, modelled after Victoria’s system, with 52 days per year private usage 4 Dual schemes like Tasmania where you have a choice of standard SIV system, or running a logbook.. TMR wish to have a answer on every-one`s preferences by the end of October, so the matter can be further discussed at the December MOCC meeting. The matter has been discussed and a preference for option #2 has been recorded. Let us know what you think. The log books would be administered by EACH club and audited on a regular basis, requiring each club to have an “Auditing Officer”. GENERAL BUSINESS: It appears, any LH 10 plated vehicles now have the option of Concessional Rego . All it requires is a Dating Letter from Col Chapman when your Rego is due and you have the choice of Full or Concessional without needing a TAC Inspection, This DOES NOT constitute a change to LH 9, but rather an ability to have concessional registration. You can swap back and forth as your needs change. Any Rods on LH 9 still need a TAC inspection to change to LH 10 , AND the onus is on you the owner to report any changes to your vehicle. NCC AGM Report There is a shortage of Judges and Stewards for ASRF events, so if anyone is interested please contact us. Qld approached Mark Saunders NTAC Co-ordinator, with regard to approaching The Federal Office of Road Safety & Infrastructure about Fender exemptions, for pre ’49 vehicles. as it is a Federal Rule which would have to be changed before any states could. In reality,we already have a fender exemption for cycle guards so at present the Govt doesn`t see a need for change. There is a proposal under “Custom” class to introduce a new class “Street Classic” These vehicles would be chassis-less pre 1966 of monocoque construction, and require the same amount of modification & detail as any other vehicle in Custom class. Standard, stock vehicles are not eligible, nor vehicles built on a “floor- pan”. 4 CLUB ROUNDUP: # Northern Districts About 25 members went to the Masters Olskool Show @ Morayfield ,it gets bigger every time.380 cars last time.
