Report on Agenda Item 6 Other Business, within the Terms of Reference of the AIS/MAP/SG .........................................6-1 ii – History of the Meeting ii-1 HISTORY OF THE MEETING ii.1 Place and Duration of the Meeting The Tenth Meeting of the GREPECAS Aeronautical Information Services and Aeronautical Charts Subgroup (AIS/MAP/SG/10) was held in Caracas, Venezuela, from 26 February to 02 March 2007, at the J.W. Marriott Hotel. ii.2 Opening Ceremony Mr. Roberto Jean-Francois, Regional Officer, Aeronautical Information Services of the ICAO South American Office, on behalf of the Regional Director of the ICAO SAM Office and Secretary of GREPECAS, welcomed the participants and thanked them for their attendance, wishing them success in the Meeting. Gen. Brig. (Av.) Ramón Viñas García, Chairman of the Instituto Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil, officially opened the Tenth Meeting of the GREPECAS Aeronautical Information Services and Aeronautical Charts Subgroup (AIS/MAP/SG/10), welcomed the participants, stressed the importance of Aeronautical Information Services and, on behalf of the Government of Venezuela, opened the Meeting. Lastly, Mr. Sergio García, as Chairman of the AIS/MAP Subgroup, welcomed the participants, and Mr. Raúl Martínez, Secretary of the AIS/MAP Subgroup, gave the corresponding explanations regarding the Agenda and documentation for the meeting. ii.3 Organization, Officers and Secretariat Mr. Sergio García J., Chairperson of the AIS/MAP Subgroup, presided over the meeting from the first day of the Meeting until the election of Ms. Noemí Carta as the new Chairperson of the Subgroup on 28 February 2007. Mr. Raúl Martínez, Regional AIS/MAP Officer of the ICAO North American, Central American and Caribbean Regional Office acted as Secretary of the Subgroup, assisted by Mr. Roberto Jean- François, Regional AIS/MAP Officer of the ICAO South American Regional Office. ii.4 Working Languages The working languages of the meeting were English and Spanish.
