As a registered Charity the Society pursues these objects through a wide variety of activities, one of these being the annual Lincolnshire Show. CANCELLATION STATEMENT There may be circumstances where the show has to be postponed, cancelled, abandoned or curtailed as a result of circumstances beyond the control of the Society, for example as a result of a security alert or as a result of inclement weather making it impractical to hold the Show. In such circumstances once any administration fees have been deducted, entry fees will be refunded. The Society will have no liability for loss or damage suffered by exhibitors or others. ALL Exhibitors are asked to read carefully: • The Lincolnshire Show Regulations and Information found at the back of this booklet • The front section of the relevant Section on Cattle, Sheep, or Pigs and the specific conditions appearing below the Breed headings, thank you Wednesday Evening Exhibitors’ Entertainment Once again, the Society will provide entertainment on the Wednesday evening in the Stockman’s Marquee. Additionally, there will also be entertainment provided in the Member’s Area on Wednesday evening. 4 MEMBERSHIP On the Livestock booking Form, an opportunity arises for each Member of the Lincolnshire Agricultural society to take advantage of reduced Livestock Entry Fees at the 133rd Lincolnshire Show, providing that Membership is held in the name of the owner of the entries to be made The cost of Livestock Membership is £55 for a single membership and £84 for a joint membership. Additional benefits of the society include access to the Member Facilities and passes for both days of the Show. Membership may be paid at the top of the Booking Form. All exhibitors must ensure that they comply fully with the current legislation issued by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs regarding the above Transport Regulation which came into force in January 2007 and are able to provide the appropriate documentation at the Show to the relevant governing authority. For the purposes of this article, mammals shall not be considered fit for transport if they (a) are unfit animals (see DEFRA website Annex 1 Chapter 1 of Council Regulation 1/2005). (b) are pregnant female animals that have reached the latest stage of gestation (within 10% of the estimated time of the gestation before birth) and for a period of one week after giving birth. (c) are very young animals except if the journey is less than 100 km, eg calves of less than 10 days of age, pigs less than 3 weeks of age and lambs of less than one week. (d) calves of less than 14 days of age on journeys exceeding 8 hours will not be permitted. The LINCOLNSHIRE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY will present an award to the STOCK ATTENDANT responsible for the preparation and exhibition of the animal judged Breed Supreme Champion in the Cattle, Sheep, and Pig sections. These will be presented at 6.30 pm on Wednesday 21st June in the Showmans Marquee. 6 CATTLE The general conditions and regulations of the Show also apply to this section. Reminder for ALL CATTLE Exhibitors from Trading Standards. CATTLE must be tagged in accordance with the Cattle Identification Regulations 1998. (Failure to do so may result in the animal being sent home). Lincolnshire Agricultural Society’s County Parish Holding Number is 24/654/8003 RESPONSIBILITY A. Please ensure that you are aware of DEFRA information regarding cattle Movements and Health regulations. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with any change of policies/legislation etc. B. All Livestock Exhibitors should ensure that they have adequate Public Liability Insurance Cover. All exhibitors are responsible for the observance by themselves, their employees, representatives or contractors of all Health & Safety at Work Regulations. C. Smoking is NOT PERMITTED in any of the livestock lines and neighbouring areas. D. Bovine Tuberculosis: Where a herd is subject to 12-monthly TB testing and so must undergo pre-movement TB testing, please bring a copy of the results with you to the Show. Please observe the current DEFRA regulations regarding pre and post-movement TB Testing. CATTLE ENTRIES will be accepted on the following basis: · Each animal may only be entered for one Cattle Class. However, this animal may then go into the relevant section’s Pairs/Group Class(es). Please ensure that you enter all Pair/Group classes (marked with the suffix ‘*’) in advance of the Show, no on-the- day entries will be accepted. All entries are of course, eligible for any Special and Championship Classes which may be offered in each section. · The Closing date for entries is Wednesday 26th April. Substitute and additional entries WILL NOT be accepted after this date. Every animal entered MUST be the property of the Exhibitor and its Passport MUST be in the Name of the Exhibitor. Transfer of Ownership Documentation must be completed before the Show. LAS Membership must be held in the name of the Exhibitor (i.e. the Owner) to qualify for Membership Discount. 1. Entries are required to arrive on the Showground by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 20th June, and must remain until 5 p.m. on Thursday 22nd June. (Exception - Commercial Beef entries to arrive before 4 p.m. Tuesday.) 2. All animals must be accustomed to being tied or haltered and exhibitors will be responsible for presenting them. 3. Where an entry is found to be entered in the wrong class it will be transferred automatically. 7 4. The Society reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry or class and will automatically cancel any class in which there are insufficient entries. The Society also reserves the right to restrict entries if numbers exceed those which can be adequately dealt with. 5. Exhibitors entering cattle in more than one breed section must indicate the number of stalls required per breed on the Booking Form. All animals belonging to one exhibitor will stand in their respective breed lines. 6. All Commercial Cattle must be housed in the Commercial Cattle Lines. 7. Where cows are entered with a calf at foot the exhibitor is required to book two standings and include the Calf date of birth and ear tag details on the entry form. 8. Due to a limited number of stalls available, please only book a maximum of one kit pen per exhibitor. 9. All cattle must be paraded in accordance with the instructions of the Honorary Director and Stewards in a safe and responsible manner.
