<p> Ai tch Care Homes’ Job Description</p><p>SUPPORT WORKER</p><p>Reporting to: Home Manager & Senior on Duty Accountable to: Aitch Care Homes</p><p>KEY OBJECTIVES</p><p>To enable the residents to lead a valued and fulfilling lifestyle and to maximise the potential capacity of all residents, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. To work within the Philosophy of “Valuing People” METHOD</p><p>To work in accordance with Aitch Care Homes’ philosophy of care and its Policies and Procedures. MAIN TASKS</p><p>. To support the personalised development of each resident, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs.</p><p>. To respect the dignity and individuality of each resident and provide the residents with choices where appropriate.</p><p>. To assist in the day-to-day running of the home and in all matters regarding the residents’ daily lives.</p><p>. To support in ensuring high standards of care and support are maintained, adhering to all requirements and regulations within the Regulations Care Homes 2002</p><p>. To work as part of a staff team in a constructive and supportive manner, attend regular staff meetings and individual supervision sessions with the Home Manager.</p><p>. To work within a rostered shift system inclusive of evening and weekend work. To sleep-in when arranged at a predetermined payment.</p><p>. To ensure the safety of the residents at all times, reporting promptly any concerns about the health and safety or well-being of residents. RESIDENT SUPPORT & KEYWORKER RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>. To support the personalised development of each resident, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs.</p><p>. To respect the dignity and individuality of each resident and provide the residents with choices where appropriate.</p><p>. To ensure a high standard of personal care for each resident, including matters of physical well-being and personal hygiene.</p><p>. To be aware of the emotional needs and aspirations of each resident and provide opportunities for appropriate emotional expression.</p><p>. To initiate and support individuals to be involved in educational, occupational, recreational activities when appropriate. </p><p>. To write and keep updated individual residents Care Plans and be actively involved in the Review process.</p><p>. To follow consistently all agreed Care Plans, Risk Assessments and individual resident guidelines, reporting any progress or problems with these.</p><p>. To report promptly any concerns about health, safety or wel-being of residents.</p><p>. To assist residents in maintaining good contact with family and friends.</p><p>. To assist residents in going on an annual holiday.</p><p>. To act as keyworker to individuals as agreed with the Home Manager. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>. To contribute to the overall cleaning of the home and involving the residents in these tasks as appropriate.</p><p>. To be vigilant to the health and safety of residents, visitors, colleagues and others.</p><p>. To accurately maintain all records as required by the Home Manager.</p><p>. To have a working knowledge of all Policies, Procedures and guidelines within Aitch Care Homes.</p><p>PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT</p><p>. To undertake courses and pursue own professional development and training. The Company proactively encourages staff to improve their skills as appropriate.</p><p>. To attain the required professional standards to practise within the General Social Care Council Standards</p><p>.
